Ime Udoka after Thunder crush Rockets in OKC 11/8/2024

Something effort. Something playing hard. Something toughness.

 

Poor performance on both ends. A defensive coach that can't have the team defend and don't get me started on offense. I'm starting to lose my trust in Ime as a long term coach for this team.

 

OKC is a dominant team with an MVP and scoring leader candidate, likely at least two or three all-stars, some DPOY, and all-defensive candidates.

We'll need to grow to become title contenders. Tough loss but I wouldn't panic and focus on getting better.

We lost to a better team at the moment on the road who's historic defensively right now.

We won 2 quarters and they only won 1 quarter.

 

Again, you can't consistently compete against the better teams just by picking up your defense and hitting the offensive glass. You need more shooting, you need to attack before the defense gets set, and you need less dribbling. You can't play Steven out there with Amen. Let's go back to Jabari as the backup 5. Need to see more shots for Jabari and Reed - developing them is your easiest path to contending.

agreed on purposefully getting more shots and looks for both Reed and Jabari. Standing around all game behind the three point line is BS

 

GSW, with the second-best defense, got destroyed in Cleveland, trailing by 41 points at the half (83 to 42). When a team shoots lights out (and you miss 5-6 shots right at the rim), you end up looking really bad.

Ime had this team at a top 10 offensive and defensive rating despite not having players that can shoot the ball well. We've got a good coach, but the roster isn't that talented. We have one of the worst eFG% in the league. Stone needs to get Ime some shooters. Trades need to be made. Players need to be dealt.

 

This loss is on the players.. Team missing bunnies and open shots. That second quarter was especially egregious. Jalen and Al-p being 8/26 is why we lost. We shot the same amount of shots as the Thunder. They just made more.

But at the end of the day, it’s probably the best defensive team in the league by a margin on the road. Not really too disheartened by this loss.

 

OKC is REALLY really good. Losing to them on the road isn't a surprise at all. I'm not that bothered by this one. It happens.

 

Before I watch....prediction - we didn't match their physicality, we didn't stick to the plan on D, and they were first to every loose ball.....

After.....?

Nope it was about us not competing and keeping up scoring wise.

We have enough shooters, but coaching shooting is also a thing. OKC gets their guys working hard on their shooting techniques and they shoot great percentages.
