I debase people who believe migrants poison the blood of this country. Good luck trying to shame me into not doing it.
I haven't given up on this country but the assault on women's rights is troublesome. This election win has emboldened the Alpha(really beta) crowd.
Is this supposed to make it okay that we as a country voted in a man who expresses Hitlerian race science rhetoric to be president?
That is no different than what Trump himself says, so anyone that embraced Trump has no moral high ground. DD
We can't give up on these people. Give them a few days to breathe. I had some close friends go on similar FB rants(not kill yourself extreme) about the results but they did the same thing 8 years ago and we remained close. I am empathetic to their anger but anticipate they will cool off with time.
I know friendships will/have been lost over the last few days but is it worth it? There is a reason you were friends before this election and it probably wasn't due to politics. I stopped sharing political beliefs on socials years ago. It's draining. Hell, the DnD is draining but at least we have basketball in common.
I’ve been rereading Marcus Aurelius’ “The Meditations” again and there are many quotes that are useful in times like this and why I am not giving up on this country. “Not to feel exasperated or defeated or despondent because your days aren't packed with wise and moral actions. But to get back up when you fail, to celebrate behaving like a human—however imperfectly—and fully embrace the pursuit you've embarked on.” “Never regard something as doing you good if it makes you betray a trust or lose your sense of shame or makes you show hatred, suspicion, ill-will or hypocrisy or a desire for things best done behind closed doors.” “Be like a rocky promontory against which the restless surf continually pounds; it stands fast while the churning sea is lulled to sleep at its feet. I hear you say, "How unlucky that this should happen to me!" Not at all! Say instead, "How lucky that I am not broken by what has happened and am not afraid of what is about to happen. The same blow might have struck anyone, but not many would have absorbed it without capitulation or complaint."
Stop feeling sorry for yourself and being melodramatic. The majority of people are glad that sanity and common sense are coming back. **** woke crap.
You are still going to spend hours a day spamming embedded Twitter links about how wokes are ruining society so obviously this new administration isn't going to help you free up time away from your crusade on Clutchfans.
My barber voted for Trump and I still plan on getting my haircut from him in a couple weeks. Several other people I know did as well but they weren't annoying with it. Real friendships and business contacts will survive as long as you're not a draped in a flagsuit MAGA type. I'm done with politics for quite a while, I'll sit back and watch it all burn while drinking a cold beer or three.
Seriously All I am going to do is encourage everytone to act like Trump and Treat everyone like they act like Trump Rocket River It's what America wants Plus i still think Voter Intimidation, Voter Suppression and Shenanigans won the day aka. . . THEY CHEATED (cause everything they accuse others of doing .. . is what they are actively doing)
You seem to use more than a normal amount of bandwidth yourself. At least some of his stuff makes me laugh. You are just sad and angry. Go help a cause instead of being the keyboard spokesperson for every group you see as marginalized. Going out and helping people does more good than anything you are doing here. But I suppose you just like reading your quippy retorts instead of making a difference. Hell you are probably in the top 3 in number of posts on this board but are too cheap to to even be a SUPPORTING MEMBER. Tells me all I need to know about you.
I understand that stance and have similar leanings, but two things. (1) We can still help the less fortunate. I'm going to up my volunteerism. And, for instance, if there's a national strike against a new extreme policy or two (who knows -- we can take their claims seriously or not), I'll join it. (2) Those ascending to and consolidating power benefit by us putting ourselves firmly on the sidelines. The more extreme Trump is in the next four years, it could be that he (watch for arguments about FDR and extreme/important "times") or his chosen replacement will get even a greater % of the vote, as more people are scared or apathetic. By all means, take 18 months off, but don't give up.
Agree completely on that top point and just said pretty much the same thing. On the 2nd, ehhh, people have different reasons and are not necessarily "cheap." I supported for many years but stopped donating when I noticed getting hit by a ton of pro-right-wing ads when in lurk mode (always lurk mode on phone). I need to re-evaluate b/c I don't think that's been as true recently; I had noted the ads to the mods and I think they tried to address it, so I probably need to re-up. I just don't like the "your behavior isn't exactly mine and I've decided it means this and nothing else." Ehhh, no. Cheers.
