I will take it. At least you can own up to that. More than I can say for others here.

A lot of people here can admit to Harris running a bad campaign while still believing a large part of the Trump voting base is racist. You are going to have to accept that bud. A lot of people are going to think that a group of people who vote for someone who says stuff like migrants poison the blood of this country to the highest office in this country are racist. You can actually give agency and the will power to make decisions to those people who vote for said individual who says Hitlerian things and actually blame them for being perceived as racist or you can baby them and pretend these people never need an ounce of self reflection.

Serious question. If for some reason these are the only two people in a 20 mile radius of you and you needed to do some emergency evasive surgery that involves incisions in the chest area for example, you'd rather have RFK operate on you than the person on the left with a MD?

Trained medical doctor or lawyer and son of a wealthy political dynasty?

Are we speaking about opinions in regards to medical science? Then ya the medical doctor. How to inject tren? RFK.

WTF, Bruh RFK isn't going to be in charge of doing evasive surgery for the country... Relax, he has very good ideas and a passion for health. Is actually healthy and based on his actions this year actually cares more about The American people's future by endorsing Trump who can help him achieve his goals...

If one had to commit heart surgary and you could only chose one of these two, you'd chose the connoisseur of road kill and falconry and not the.... medical doctor?

I'm assuming someone who is trained up to be able to do evasive surgery probably has more background and understanding of medical science than the falconry dude. I would assume.

No, that is not why Trump won.

It's because people are feeling the squeeze. Their lives are getting harder. Home ownership, education, financial security, even taking a vacation - is becoming further and further out of reach. The standard of living is in decline.

The real reason is because wealth is being concentrated in the few. And as corporate profits reach new heights, the percentage of that going to workers reaches new lows.

There are only two outcomes to that. Either the rich kill democracy and take control to protect their wealth. It's ok if they tank the economy as their wealth can be made depression proof for the most part and they can increase their control and wealth. But the most improtant thing is to never let workers push back. Kill labor unions, and control democracy so workers never gain power. Do this by distracting them by blaming their problems on immigrants, China, and distract them with other ideas. Blame their condition on the opposition. And they will never really understand what is going on.

This system can only have two outcomes. Both are dark. One leads to communism as a workers revolution always gets preempted by thrist quenching monsters, or let the rich take over led by a thirst quenching monster. Fascism and communism really aren't all that different. Opposite ends that really have more in common than uncommon. Trump could easily have been a leftist attaching the rich to gain power. But he's far right instead.

The only question is what comes after Trump. Will it be a dynasty where he transfers power to his children, or will the whole thing come crumbling down once he is gone. It will be interesting to see.

Man, I thought I was pessimistic. My main concerns are still the economy and our unpayable 35T debt.

    • For Dem's, how about having an actual primary and let your base decide rather than having a candidate rammed down your throat. Might explain the lower turn out. Honestly don't think Harris would have won an open primary.

Democrats cry about the death of democracy.

Look at them. Party elites huddling together and anointing nominees based on their back room deals.

    The irony.

It is going to be close, but only because of the massive deficit in 2020 from the combination of shutdowns and massive COVID overspending (completely bipartisan, I might add). The first three years of the Trump presidency were all lower deficits than any year of the Biden presidency and half the years of the Obama presidency.
Did RFK, Jr. just struggle to do 9 pushups? Clearly that body is cosmetic, not functionally fit.

    Hmmm..

The deal with Trump's first 3 years when he ran up 3T in debt was that there wasn't a disaster/crisis to overcome and a period where he and most Americans believed was an upturn in the economy, which normally isn't characterized by deficit spending.

He essentially undid all the belt tightening during Obama's "sequester years" and ate more burgers than he flipped.

He can try pulling that trick again this time, but we all know Biden didn't play an old and broken miser when the last 2 republican presidents undid all the budget savings with unpaid tax cuts. Tea Party Caucus what?

So Elon might be onto something when the bean counters finally decide we can't dump a trillion every business quarter into the debt furnace in order to cook some books that voters rejected.

Biden, Clinton, Obama, etc., won California by 30 points. Harris at at 17% and dropping. The vibe was different this time around here. So much open Trump support I saw through last couple months

ironically, people in blue states like ca and ny will do better under trump but those industrial and rural red states with lesser economies are going to feel even greater pain.
