All.this maybe true but she still has to fight back. People are voting for Trump and the border. The border is a losing battle. Gasoline prices are real.
The Democrats can only fight the border issue by completely deconstructing the issue and actually putting in the leg work to change the narrative of the border issue from a issue of security to a issue of exploitation
The Democrats authored a bi-partisan border bill that republicans voted against their own bill. The Dems try again and again to work across the aisle but that scorpion will always sting that frog. DD
I mean we strongly disagree here because I think Democrats campaigning on "we have the same border policy as the right" was a failure I think the Democrats caved into right wing framing that migrants coming in is a security issue which helps prop up the narratives that result in targeted hate of Latino migrant communities.
Exactly, they can talk gasoline prices because they're understandable. The economy not being in control of the presidency is harder to deconstruct but gasoline prices are down and if you're in an administration hampered by inflation you have a n argument in gasoline prices
I dunno. I think it was a good check mate that proved the Republicans don’t care and are only using it for propaganda to create faux fear. We’ll never know what border bill Kamala would have signed into law but I think it was important to ensure you have the ability to show the voters the R’s are liars and manipulative. Did it turn off liberals by saying she would pass a border bill and that cost her the election??? I dunno. I’m willing to hear your case if you think so but I don’t think it moved a voter away from her from the left because most on the left are smart and know that a border bill would go through months of review and if there was something morally wrong about the bill it would give them a chance for the progressive wing to stifle it. I also believe progressives believe Democrats can govern more reasonable and not be cruel when enacting polices like this. Maybe I’m wrong and happy to hear your thoughts.
The type of voters who care about border security will never vote Democrat. They don't care about cute quips about how Trump prevented a bill from being passed. The people who care about border security have been inundated by a right wing media ecosystem for years now to where there is no way they believe Democrats are better for their goal of border security. The only thing Harris accomplished by buying into said framing is giving more backing to right wing narratives about how migrants are a security issue and are inherently violent.
I won’t say that’s not true because it mostly is. However the party as a whole back months ago when the border bill was about to pass before Trump nuked it, there was finally an admission that on the issue it was allowed to go unchecked narratively and now it has stuck. It was an admission that they lost the issue from a propaganda standpoint by ignoring it instead of combating it in the propaganda wars. The same thing is going to happen unfortunately with the trans issue. The right is allowed to lie constantly with propaganda unchecked and if you do that over and over again then it becomes reality to most of the country who are ill informed. Then when you have to have an answer to it, there isn’t a good answer you can give. Not to let the Democrats off the hook but it’s bigger than just the Democratic Party and especially Kamala and the few people who helped on her campaign like Jenn O’Malley Dillon and David Plouffe. I think Kamala and those two senior campaign officials who all three were making the big decisions did the best they could with the hand they were dealt. Not perfect but they don’t deserve to be scapegoats for the bigger dilemma we are in. The information wars though were lost years ago and are just showing their impact in recent months at how destructive a collapse of reality by information warfare can be on a population. There’s blame to go around with Democrats, Kamala, and her senior managers. However I just think the focus should be broader because if we just scapegoat her and her team on this one issue we are doomed to fail again in the future. The broader pro-democracy coalition globally needs some sort of uniting force to figure out how the hell the world in general deals with a new era of humans being influenced by false realities that are self defeating and are designed to turn society on its head so the few can reap the rewards of power and wealth while all us little people pay the price.
@Salvy @Jontro @basso @Andre0087 @pgabriel Kamala should have gotten Diddy and R Kelly to endorse her
Another thing that went wrong , y'all have to admit there was a weird disconnect vibe going on with Biden and Harris- Biden, I'm sure was secretly pissed at getting dissed -
How does Jessie Watters have a career? The very embodiment of the lack of meritocracy in our society.
I voted without enthusiasm for Genocide Kamala, the proven bad candidate of 2020 who could never have won a lengthy primary.
