Republican/conservative opposition to democratic reforms is well-established. Bureaucracies can be frustratingly inefficient and imperfect, but they are also needed to ensure the disempowered have fair representation in government decision-making. America Is a Republic, Not a Democracy | The Heritage Foundation America is a republic and not a pure democracy. The contemporary efforts to weaken our republican customs and institutions in the name of greater equality thus run against the efforts by America’s Founders to defend our country from the potential excesses of democratic majorities. American republicanism and the ordered liberty it makes possible are grounded in the Federalists’ recognition that non-majoritarian parts of the community make legitimate contributions to the community’s welfare, and that preserving these contributions is the hallmark of political justice. But, the careful balance produced by our mixed republic is threatened by an egalitarianism that undermines the social, familial, religious, and economic distinctions and inequalities that undergird our political liberty. Preserving the republican freedoms we cherish requires tempering egalitarian zeal and moderating the hope for a perfectly just democracy.
Ehh... I really want to see the truth of this. I'll be keeping an eye on this to see if it really happens or just talk. The Ukraine/Russia one also...
I dont see how this "win" proves any opinion was correct or proves you are not a moron. The fact is that the next 4 years are going to prove who was "right" and who was "wrong". And according to Project 2025, the next 4 years look awfully scary for Americans.
Colbert and Kimmel may finally learn that 1) the public cares zero about celebrity opinions, and 2) the conversion of late night shows to political shows was always a bad idea.
Just proving your Xeet is completely asinine when talking about governance. Republicans don't care about the debt when they elect a orange reality TV host who added more to the debt than "tax and spend" Democrats. Go back to being CEO of your troll farm.
Everyone should have their full name online, too many people hide behind fake names to spew their real selves vitriol....if you say something you should own it. Anonymity isn't real - and shouldn't be allowed. DD
The same place those Republican votes came from? I've already explained Kamala got more votes in multiple battleground states this go around, and in all battleground states the vote totals were pretty consistent to 2020. The big difference in total votes for Kamala is in non-battleground states and that they need to count more votes. She's going to end up with well over 70M votes, and might even hit the 75M number (I think she falls in the 73-74M range). Trump I'd say is going over 75M when done. Right now where the big vote total differences between Kamala and Biden are: California: 5.4M votes New York: 900K votes Washington: 700K votes Florida: 600k votes Arizona: 500K votes (Still another 1M in votes to be counted) Texas: 450K votes And I could go on and on.
