    Vance, Vivek or DeSantis.

    I'd be fine with either.

I have no idea if he is electable or unelectable. I do believe that his sexual orientation is an obstacle. I just don't know what kind of candidate and campaign he could run. I think before Obama many people would have believed the nation wasn't ready for a black President. Maybe Pete could change minds. He isn't my first choice, anyway. But I also see the double standard that the party that is about supporting inclusion and people no matter what their sexual orientation is would prevent someone because of their sexual orientation.

I think he's a very skilled politician and talented communicator. Unfortunately, aside from being gay, he comes across to me as, for lack of a better word, elite. He's a Harvard graduate who claims to speak 8 languages and hasn't held elected office outside of a small college town.

I wish I agreed with you on the gay point. It would be great if it could be overlooked. But, the Trump campaign just spent tens of millions of dollars running anti-trans ads. I know those aren't the same thing. But voters who are tired of identity politics will see that acronym and be reminded of the elitist social policies they hate. Voters we are losing - working class blacks and Latinos - are more socially conservative. Pete couldn't find support among the former in 2020 and I don't think it would be wise to gamble on him in 2028.

I wish it weren't the case.

    silver lining....

Establishment democrats are now suddenly going to express empathy for detained migrants and Palestinians. They suddenly grow spines and actually defend their coalition of minority groups when they aren't in power. Expect some Pelosi Kente cloth action to show solidarity with activists now that the burden of a having your party in power is removed, you can express just rhetoric rather than action to follow it up and it'll be fine.

Democrats need to remove the DLC and move further left and do a much better job of explaining to the working classes what they will do for them.

It should have been item 1.....raise minimum wage to $15 an hour nationally.

    2. Stop buy backs from large corporations and tax their proits.
    3. Remove loophole of rich to borrow and not pay taxes.
    4. Reasonable gun controls
    5. Remove any weapon sales to Israel until they pull out of Gaza - and enter into a ceasefire
    6. No more taxes paid by people over 70 from retirement accounts
    7. Term limits for Congress, Senate, and SC
    8. Removal of Electoral college 1 vote is 1 vote everywhere
    9. Remove $$ from lobbying
    10. heavy penalties for price gouging
    11. Regulate social media - make algorithm participation public and voluntary
    12. Regulate News programs - must present both sides, or label as Opinion

Just be direct, most of what I proposed is very popular with the American public.

No. I am not sure how that question pertains to the post you quoted.

Count me as somebody, despite not voting for Obama that saw him as very electable. I think being a woman is harder because there is less inspiration to have the first woman. I think being gay is a much bigger handicap than either. I would really like Pete on the ticket, but I think he'd be too much of a turnoff to a significant portion of Democrats.

It makes sense. All hypothetical at this point since there are zero candidates announced for 2028. It isn't like I have faith in people's willingness or ability to move forward. There are other candidates I would prefer (though most of them are women). But he is an amazing communicator, and seems immune to being rattled. He has an ability to cut through the angles and twists people use when asking him a question. He uses words both effectively and efficiently.

Sad that something out of his control and not an actual negative would keep him from seeking the office.

I agree and endorse everything on your list. Please let your party run on this platform. Bwahahaha!

Congrats on being the dumbest poster in the D&D. You’re the champ. Your title will be safe for years to come. No one can challenge you.

    You will stay undefeated. Lol

I honestly can't even begin to wrap my head around who will be running in 4 years (beginning in just 2 years...if not sooner). Anyone who might seem obvious now is not who it's going to be. Honestly, anyone who might seem obvious now is not who it should be either.

Completely agree. Cultural relevance is key to winning a presidential race where Trump is involved or on the ballot and you just have no idea where we will be as a society with what is culturally relevant in 2028.

If you want to predict think about what “the thing” is that people are talking about at fish fry’s and NASCAR races in 2027 and who is the person that is making the best point on that topic in the public mindshare where when people talk to each other they say “you know that … guy has a really good point”… that’s who should be running for president. What’s “the thing” and who will be able to break through the public mindshare.

Unless it's my gurl Michelle. She was polling pretty well against Trump before she was like peace, I'm out. Hell, by the time Trump amends the Constitution to run for a 3rd term, we can always bring back Barack. Knowing our idiot populace, we'd elect Trump for a third term.

I'd like to think this, too. However, Trump has shown repeatedly he wipes his ass with the Constitution. I don't know if the 22nd amendment will protect any of us from a 3rd Trump term. And even then, hell, JD Vance might be the next nominee and he's a pile of **** too. Problem with that is that America will elect piles of **** into office.
