No. It's just that a lot of you have low expectations for players. You are easily excited over anything. Personally I have never once said Reed was or will be a bust. I knew this was a weak draft from the start and would have opted for size and/or elite level defense. Both of which could be helpful right away on a win now squad. Reed will need a season or so to get to where he is really dangerous.
Nah we needed shooting. We been drafting athletes and scorers the rebuild. We thought we drafted a shooter Jabari but it was falsely advertise. We have enough size and elite defense in brooks, Jabari, amen and Tari. it wa time to take the best shooting prospect available at our selection. We’re the worse shooting team in the league currently
Meh. He could be scoring 20ppg on the Wizards in 30+ minutes right now just like Jalen did his rookie season with the rockets. That would make some people happy but there's no difference, the fact is he has to improve what he has to improve.
If Reed doesn't put up at least 20/6/6 today on good efficiency do we consider trading him at the deadline?
I'm not worried about his shot. The form's there, the legs are what's lacking. As he settles down, the 3's will start falling.
We could have signed Tyus Jones or traded for Payton Pritchard if we just needed shooting. Sheppard isnt providing any shooting RN in case you didnt realize. I hope Sheppard becomes more than just a backup level small pg cuz those guys are the most common resource in the league.
Oh hell no to the consolidation trade. Sengun and JG both signed for less than the max and FVV is an expiring. Rox can afford their entire core long term. Sengun/JG/Tari/Amen/Bari should be untouchable. Reed Sheppard has no value right now compared to what the Rox invested in him so he might as well be untouchable. Cam Whitmore is playing so bad he tanked his draft stock so he also isnt worth trading. So called consolidation trades almost always never work out. Thats because either you pay too much or the player is overrated. Or both. We have guys who are gonna be good enough to be consolidation targets if we just give them time and let them grow together.
