Or just call it for what it is... Rigged. Biden was a lame duck who got the highest vote total of all time. They said he got that amount because people hated Trump not due to loving Biden. Well what happened yesterday? What happened to hating Trump? 20 million less votes this time around. Super Suspect.
Didn't she have like one job as VP: the border? And during that time we had more illegals cross then ever in history?
Biden got in because he is not Trump, this time there is no huge anti Trump wave as the Biden administration have many issues the voters are not happy about as well.
Obama would have destroyed Trump. 2024: Harris - 66.3M, Trump - 71.4M **20% of Democrats stayed home compared to last election. 2020: Biden - 81.3M, Trump - 74.2M (D+4.5%) 2016: Clinton - 65.8M, Trump 62.9M (D+2.1%) 2012: Obama - 65.9M, Romney 60.9M (D+3.9%) 2008: Obama - 69.4M, McCain 59.9M (D+7.2%)
Biden/Harris didn't help themselves at all by completely dropping the ball on illegal immigration imo. They had four years to do something about it and what did they do besides just let anyone come into the country to the point that states just started busing illegal migrants up north to get them out of Republican states. The last year effort to come up with bi-partisan immigration policy that Republicans balked at wasn't enough and was too little...too late. They shot themselves in the feet on immigration imo. But, the economy is mainly why the election was lost with the main driver being post-pandemic inflation. Everyone thinks Trump can run the economy better whether true or not. It also didn't help how Kamala became the default democratic candidate after Biden had to bow out basically bypassing how candidates are really selected.
Basically she got majority of her black voters which is an accomplishment in a night where everything went wrong (and the left media was reporting about a tight race......pretty wrong) And Obama doing her a disservice, that news proved to be not relevant.
Biden spent the first two years of his Presidency cleaning the mess Donald Trump left behind. Biden tried to get a immigration/border deal done in his second two years but Asshat Trump forced the Congressional Rs to abandon the bipartisan bill (which was in and of itself a major legislative feat). Let's see the mess Biden is leaving Trump: Record unemployment. Record stock market. 2.4 inflation, which is near the historic average for the 50 years or so. Wages growing faster than inflation which has not happen in a very long long time. Record oil production. I wonder what price the electorate made Congress pay for ignoring the border?
It's the economy stupid. Inflation hurt a lot of blue collar and service industry workers. Even though inflation was not Biden's fault, they associate it with Biden/Kamala.
Obama doesn't have the same appeal today that he did in 2008. I voted for him twice and wish he'd shut the **** up most of the time these days. Again, it isn't about candidates. If Obama is going to just bend the knee to the overall modern liberal agenda....he too would be a fly on the windshield.
It is pretty hard to be a candidate in the States bc you have to be like a Chameleon and be rock solid. Time is over when you can just talk your way out of that race. Trump is a wild card, there are not many guys like him.
Kamala just didn't have any Rizz as my kids would say. Very few people other than black women were excited about her. Biden F'ed the democrats by not withdrawing before the primaries. We needed a fresh face.
Exit polls showed this wasn’t as big of an issue as was stumped on. Even less of an issue was transgender ****. The real issue was inflation ‘economy’ - and the Ds didn’t have a plan where Trump at least acknowledged the issue and fanned the flames.
I don't really put a lot of blame on Kamala Harris - she was behind the 8 ball and actually did well considering that 70% of voters said that they were not happy with the direction of the country, and Harris was the VP. I think that she should have tried to pivot away from Biden and didn't do so because some of her advisors were also fond of Biden the person - that was a mistake. She didn't think quickly on her feet either. However - as I said 4 years ago and a year ago - this should have been an absolute blow out for the Republicans. All of the shocks from the pandemic like inflation and infighting were going to be present post 2020 election. I think that this was the Republicans election to win - and they deserve credit for doing just that. As for the Biden years - historians will likely be kind to him like they are with Harry Truman. However from a practical standpoint, he did not set his party up very well going forward - he did not inspire the American people and he went too far, and lacked common sense because he did not seem all that concerned with being elected in 2024. The Democratic Party has rightfully pointed out problems with the Republicans under Trump - and it is true that still most Americans don't think he is a good person, but the Democratic Party needs to look in the mirror and realize that they are out of touch with the majority of Americans. All of the focus on transgendered rights, the lack of action on the border and the inability to really understand parts of their core voting group (black and Hispanic men) have doomed them. To this day, I am not sure that some of the decision makers at the top of the DNC understand why blue collar workers voted for Trump, they will focus on Unions and Civil Rights but completely overlook the economics element of it all. The most powerful Democrat going forward should be Fetterman in Pennsylvania. Again - I know it is a talking point to rip Harris, but I don't really have a lot of criticism of her beyond what I stated. Internally the Democrat leadership needs to realize that it is doing some of the same things it has pointed out Trump has done - from changing the official record of what Biden said, to allowing Joe Biden to run for a second term - as he could no longer physically communicate like needed for a President. There are no excuses for having migrants literally lining the streets in places like Illinois, Texas, NY and the Mid West.
That stuff all is inter-related. A lot of blue-collar voters did not like the fact that the administration seemed more concerned with allowing illegal immigrants into the country than helping them. That the focus was on trans rights and other small groups. Blue collar workers did not want to compete against illegal aliens - they did not want to hear about trans rights - they did not want any of those distractions..... for as big of an ******* and liar that Trump is, he did not stick his nose up at voters like the Democrats did.
America is a racist and mysoginistic country, if Walz was at top of ticket he walks to victory. Sad to know that until the older - back of the bus, separate fountain - generation dies off it will be so. DD
Presidency is about inspiring people. Kamala didn't inspire turnout. Whether because of being a woman, lack of charisma, or hangover from the pandemic economy, dems did not turn out. End of story.
It's not (just) on her. It's the Dem platform/federal government. Things Dems didn't (have the courage to) address: - runaway debt (and an economic plan that is tone deaf by promising more giveaways) - causing runaway inflation [having said that, Americans are addicted to debt and stupid--all my local bond measures passed--e.g., $300 million bond for a new library for a city of 150K, $350 million bond to "fix up schools" for a district of 3,500 kids, etc.--but I live in a relatively liberal district, so go figure] - money in politics - Dem congresspeople trading stock on insider information - money in politics - runaway gig economy (that in turn makes everything more expensive since Airbnb, Doordash, Uber, etc. are not much more than middlemen) - no jerbs, only gigs (but FOR HIRE SIGNS EVERYWHERE!!!!!!1111!!!!!) - let'em eat cake/drive Uber/be a Dasher = full employment!!!! - but the stock market is doing great! (nobody cares!) -- pumped up by runaway debt, that congresspeople are trading, and beholden to doners - money in politics - incessant donate now ads instead of how her platform will make lives better -- as a doner it really felt like a one-night stand (with non-stop drunk calls for more sex) rather than a relationship - this one is on her--doesn't seem she has an economist on staff, or she's just dumb Things Dems did address: - gender politics - race politics - Viktor Orb...er...Trump Bold prediction: I wouldn't be entirely shocked if 22nd Amendment is repealed.
