I think its great you are passionate about the USA which is why its never wrong to be politically passionate in my eyes. A lot of what people hate Trump for is created by the democrat party which is ran by the Deep State. Do you think the vegetable that is Joe Biden was really running the show? Then who? People can scream conspiracy or whatever they wish. This country went on a political witch hunt against Trump and came out punching air. Think about that. Think about all the communist counties that ran witch hunts or attempted to assassinate political adversaries. This happens in Russia. Think about what side you are really on. The media caused those attempts. The American people defeated that propaganda machine and ultimately this will make the left come more to the center and realize they need to speak the truth or they will be rejected. American in its whole won last night. Hard to see in your shoes right now but you may come around to that idea after cooler heads prevail.
None of the terrible things libs have psyched themselves into believing will happen, will happen. Just like they didn't happen 2016-2020. You'll feel better when you day to day life improves very shortly. This is a great day.
When 20 million illegals are deported and there is no one to harvest our crops, to clean our houses, cut our lawns or build our houses? When tariffs are 20% on every import making everyday goods 20% more expensive? When Elon slams austerity cuts to the federal budget? When RFK Jr decides there is too much science in medicine? When Mike Johnson appeals ObamaCare? When more women die in hospital parking lots? Just curious.
Don't blame the citizens of this country. Blame the Democrars for pushing the wrong woman as the nominee. Should have had a proper primary like many in the DNC wanted.
Trump promised that. Are you saying Trump was not serious? I guess if Trump does deport 20 million illegals, you can always say to the world ... he is only doing what he said he would. BTW, WTF do you Trump will do that make my life better? I know you can not answer. You have no clue.
As much as possible, the Dems need to try and child-proof our Democracy and nation. Put things in place to limit the damage the Trumpians can do when they step into power. I don't know what can be done without a supermajority in congress, but anything is better than nothing.
They know that their lives were better under Trump. They just can’t admit it because it will expose them for the fraud that they are.
You guys can always go and howl at the moon. That’s doing something. You have tried every damn thing under the sun already. Even assassination attempts did not work. You cannot go against God’s will.
Are we back to the Ds being the responsible adults in the room? That so has not worked out for them. I say let the Rs burn it all down ... or at least give it their best shot. The Ds would just be better off running Spanish language ads telling the listeners that they should not leave their houses without proper id, lest they wind up in Mexico or Argentina or ... Let the Ds play the fear card as hard as the Rs.
As an American, telling my fellow citiznes to leave their homes, families, and communities so they can live a dignified, free life just feels so ****ed up.
What states have an attack on queer or pregnant folks? Did you see all the red states passing abortion measures yesterday? I don't think these fears are based in reality. And our immigration system needs fixing. There is a reason border counties flipped hard red this time around. They don't know how racist they really sound but want to pretend otherwise. many cases...
People need "bread and circus" in a country where wages have not meaningfully risen in 40 years and there wasn't enough bread during the Biden administration. The Democrats were dumb to anoint Harris as the nominee since she is part of that deeply unpopular administration, but it feels like a predictable outcome of the identity politics trap: it was assumed that the Democratic base wouldn't accept opposition to her because of her race and gender. Yes, it was historic that she is the first woman to be VP. But, the social politics they've wedded themselves to also meant that they could not challenge her on the merits of her candidacy. The Democratic party has missed the forest for the trees when it comes to the economic realities many people face. I can't see this as much more than a repudiation of inflation and neoliberalism. If you're going to continue on an economic path that deprives the bottom 40% of wage earners a real shot to improve their station in life you can't price them out of food and housing, too. You can't give billions away to Ukraine when you aren't living up to your principles at home. You can't be seen as sympathizing more with illegal immigrants than American citizens who are in need of help. I believe Trump is a wolf in sheep's clothing. His first-term economic record doesn't suggest that he will meaningfully expand economic opportunity for everyday people because Republican orthodoxy, namely adherence to lowering the tax burden on the wealthiest among us, doesn't allow for that. Furthermore, there is no meaningful return of blue collar manufacturing (the "again" in MAGA) in our global free-trade economy that doesn't come without severe cost of living increases for most people. There is no return to a protected income for non-college-educated workers from a party that stands in opposition to labor unions or workers' rights. But, Trump is right to be angry at the fallout from NAFTA. Even a blind-ass hog finds an acorn now and then. I keep thinking about two recent episodes of The Daily: "How NAFTA Broke American Politics" and "An Immigration System Most Americans Never Wanted". To me, they sound like two sides of the same coin. Global economics did not lift all boats and unintended consequences of immigration created scapegoats. People are not wrong to be angry. But, I'm extremely skeptical that, barring a massive cultural shift where we learn to expect and live with less stuff, these angry voters will find any resolution to the forces at play shaping their lives. A lot of people stand to get hurt in the collateral damage if Trump enacts his tariffs and deports tens of millions of illegal immigrants. But, I think a lot of angry Americans want to see some shared pain after decades of diminished hope. Trump is a uniquely noxious individual who tried to overthrow our government. Personally, I'll never forgive that. That now makes me part of a political minority. But, I have to hope that a legitimate left-leaning candidate is able to call out the forces that fed this populist anger, show how Republican policies won't alleviate them, de-emphasize identity politics (which voters clearly want), moderate their stance on social issues, and show that handing over the keys to the robber barons was a bad idea.
