The truth is she is a black woman. Democrats would have had a better chance with a white straight male.
She clearly was not the best democratic candidate and was the vice president choice for Biden to secure the women and minority vote because they like to play identity politics. it’s like putting jeremy Lin to the rockets to get China to watch after Yao but basketball fans in any country can see the difference between a real Allstar and bench player who got on a streak thanks to Mike D’Antoni

The Democrats had a chance to simply be Not Trump in 2020 with their no-mandate Biden win. But then Biden proceeded to act like he was God's gift to progressives; and to top it all off the Democratic Party lied/covered up Biden's physical and mental aging. Harris gets installed as the heir apparent, but I don't think Americans like being lied to or like the fact that the Democratic Party acted behaved the way it did over the past four years. So I don't believe her loss has to do with her being a woman or being black; I think her loss has more to do with the Democratic Party being incompetent, Harris's presumed participation in that incompetence, and the widespread perception that she was untested as a leader. In the end I think swing voters simply chose the devil that they knew rather than roll the dice with Harris.
I think being a woman hurt her. I think not being as public as Trump, for better or worse, hurt her. Mostly, I think her VP pick hurt her. Shapiro should have been the pick. I think he is that party's future. Him and Pete, potentially. I honestly wish we'd get more people like Jocko Willink (not a Democrat) to step up politically. Just someone that has military leadership experience and common sense.

I think that there are men in this country who will not vote for a women to be POTUS. It is simple as that.
I put this in the other thread though this section belongs here: Kamala's problem is she couldn't get the stink of "Bidenomics" off of her. The majority of people didn't feel they were better off and wanted to go back to the Trump years given the choice of the 2. They didn't want another 4 years of the same. You could argue low unemployment, falling inflation and the record high stock market say we are on track but 2/3 of American's thought the economy was bad. Why is that? Because the majority of American's live paycheck to paycheck. Big deal if their 401k grew from 100k to 130k. They can't touch that money. They have the same job and the paychecks aren't keeping up with food, child care, utilities, rent. Inflation is coming down yes, but that doesn't bring the prices down. The damage is done on that and they feel left behind.
What went wrong for Kamala was the fact she was shoved in there by the Dems. If she couldn't get a single primary vote in 2020 (and technically dropped out in 2019 after Tulsi Gabbard put her in a headlock), why did the Dems think she'd inspire people to vote for her years later with all the rising costs people have been dealing with under her? Also pretending to be Black wasn't a good look either. We know she's Indian-Irish. All this cos playing with different races and accents was a terrible look. People noticed.
Biggest thing- ‘the economy’. A solid, simple and clear economic plan. Although the economy is doing well, that doesn’t mean that people feel it. Inflation caused your dollar to go way shorter. A lot of this was caused by Trump’s previous policies but that doesn’t really matter. She should have had a clear, simple and aggressive plan. ‘Wars’ - Policy on an Israeli arms embargo. Polls showed this was a weakness for her. GOP stumped on ending wars and this was a good way to end one of them. She was a nice woman. My wife straight up said it when she was nominated- America isn’t ready for a woman president. I will say that if she was a hardass firebrand that may have gone over well enough to tip things in her favor. That brand of professional woman wins in our country.
Honestly, I don't think Kamala ran a bad campaign. She was in uncharted waters. It's hard to point to any part of the last 3 months that was objectively a mistake. You could even argue that she did a commendable job avoiding common Democratic blunders like IDPOL. The only thing that 'mattered' (the debate), she beat Trump soundly on. What did her in was the last four years of economic malaise and the Trump prosecution(s) which energized his base. In the end, it was too much headwind to overcome with "I'm not them" vibes.
Sick burn. In a few hours from now this place will be wild with all sorts of emotions from the woke crowd.
