So this is totally anecdotal but this is when I started to think Trump was going to win even though I had serious doubts if I was going to be alive for the election. I was in the hospital from August 6th until September 4th. Actually, I was in 2 hospitals because I got an ambulance ride from one hospital to another when I needed a higher level of care. One hospital was in the suburbs and Harris won that county. The other hospital was in Houston. I NEVER brought up politics to anyone at the hospital. When I was in my room watching TV I only watched sports or movies. I never watched the news or anything political. I had 7 nurses that were all minority women tell me they wanted Trump to win and they started the political conversations. When I was asked who I wanted to win my standard answer was I didn't like either candidate. I also had 2 minority ultrasound techs tell me they were for Trump. I was honestly shocked how pro Trump some of them were.
What makes you think they are not? Do you think it is wrong to deport people because of a public protest?
so brainwashing, tribalism, protectionism/xenophobia? Fascism is associated with populism (which is brainwashing and tribalism) and autocratic one party government (which is project 2025 & all the division & demonization that Trump does of the other party, ie again, tribalism). It also exalts one nation above others (xenophobia and not wanting to cooperate with nations that align with our geopolitical interests is getting us close to this ideology). Nobody wants to be called fascist but when you vote for/support something that kinda resembles the politics of it, then by logical transition, you are being a fascist... There is a reason white supremacists vote for Trump...
If somebody who thought they wouldn’t get deported gets booted out the country? Shrug, that ain’t got nothing to do with me If a national abortion ban is passed? Oh well, that’s what the people wanted If cops get full immunity like Trump promised? I don’t do crime and only interact with police for the once in a blue moon driving ticket If the ACA gets repealed? I’ll be fine, so whatever…don’t want to hear sh*t from the people who depended on it don’t want to hear sh*t from any of those pro-Palestine people all the bad sh*t Trump did his 1st term didn’t personally affect me…the people have spoken with this election, so I’ll just do me…life was good for me under Obama, Trump, and Biden
You can break it down however you like, it certainly isn't my approach to politics. All I'm saying is The worst one can see in Trump, the worst examples of his supporters people are exposed to online, is very unlikely to be a good representation of the majority of his voters, IMO.
This reads like a copy pasta. You had 9 medical professionals profess their support for Trump to you completely unprovoked while admitted to the hospital? You probably forgot you were wearing a maga hat dude
A lot of it had to do with how they were treated during COVID. They were pissed. I don't have a MAGA hat and I was calling for his removal from office in older threads when he fired Mattis. I hate both parties.
