That's a child's logic. I get that you're being purposely obtuse about Reed but you sound really stupid.
In the big picture, Reed does seem to have taken that 9th spot in the rotation over Cam. But you are right, Cam is as much the victim of his position being too crowded than Reed being more ready. The advantage of Reed over Cam is that Reed is more versatile. It's ironic because physically Cam should be able to do more things than Reed. Reed can play both on ball and off ball. He is also a more consistent defender than Cam. Cam is one dimensional on offense and in consistent in his defensive effort. I noticed that Udoka is actually using Jalen more as the backup PG. And there is Holiday, not to mention Amen. It's not like they have to play him. So Reed could have just been clued to the bench if he didn't show some things that gain the coach's trust.
Pipe down. You’re a casual box score watcher who doesn’t know a thing about basketball. Stop posting and learn a bit before spouting off. You’re the only poster on this board hating on Reed. That should tell you something..
Ime has a "timeout chair" strategy with Cam Whitmore, expect to see him bounce in and out of the rotation all year long.
It's not an excuse for his shooting performance. He needs to shoot better, of course. Should that even need to be said?
Reed hasn't been exactly as expected. He's in a cold slump shooting. The making the right play and moving the ball quickly has shown. He hasn't had as much on ball opportunities as I expected after the preseason. Still a rookie. Defense hasn't been great, but he's been hidden well with Amen and Tari. Really, the shooting has been holding Reed back. I didn't expect that. I think once that he starts draining mid range and 3 pointers, his PT will increase.
Reed's form is correct, but his 3 pointers aren't going in. It's disappointing to see that. I still think he should be getting minutes off the bench.
Couldnt watch the Knicks game but Warriors targeted Reed with players like Kuminga and succeeded often. Ime is far more likely to pull for defense than offense
Right, I wasn't debating Cam > Reed. I was saying Amen and Tari are taking most of Cam's minutes. It's the just the math of which player's minutes increased and which player's minutes decreased. I mean, I guess we could say another player is playing PG but either way the vast majority of Reed's minutes come with FVV off the court. And, as the #3 pick in the draft, they're going to give him a chance at his primary position. Now, even if both Reed and Cam were at their peak potential, Reed is just a more useful player for this team. We have enough wings and forwards. Reed brings a unique skillset as a sharpshooter and PG that can spell FVV or eventually replace him. Cam's Corey Maggette potential is less useful if you already have players who need the ball over him and wings that can add value without being the primary scorer.
I wasn't paying too much arttention to the Warriors game as the Rockets were down most of it. That said, checking the stats show the Warriors were horrid on offense in Reed's time such that whatever advantage the Warriors got with Reed was likely covered well enough to prevent the Warriors from doing it often.
Reed has some high basketball IQ. He’s just calibrating his speed to the NBA. Already looking much more comfortable with the 2nd unit.
Hey look, you pulled the kneepads back out! Nothing like easy on/off velcro, amirite! Silly rabbit, over there pretending like you don't know precisely what you know. Slurp slurp.
