It would have to swing back to center. Once the Trump shadow is not hanging over those with a more moderate view of things they will come out of the shadows not being in fear of being blackballed by the lickspittles that have cozied up to him. Problem is I don't see anyone on the bench yet to be the one.
I wonder if the party would welcome back the true conservative never Trumpers or is the party too far gone? Is the party so divided a viable 3rd party will emerge? Will this also cause the Democrats to skew and spilt as well into far left and center left parties?

It’s a turning point. GOP is losing more and more votes because their constituents are leaving or dying off. Instead of fixing things they’re trying to ‘fix’ things so their decreasing minority can cling to power. Everyone hates boomers so they need to champion their non-crackpot younger faces. GOP needs a hard reset in values and marketing. This is a good reason for Trump to lose. There are tens of millions of conservative and independent voters who want to see it.
even if Trump loses the election by a wide margin, I still don’t think the republican party will move away from Trumpism they have radicalized their base…they’re not going for some sane, milquetoast republican drop Trump and move away from Trumpism, and half the base will be gone…these people are voting for Trump, it’s a cult of personality with fealty to one man
they’re in a tough spot…majority of the country can’t stand the MAGAt movement making it hard for republicans to win elections, but they can’t afford to alienate the deplorables because they need their votes these people will hate u and call u a RINO if u say things like the 2020 election wasn’t stolen or Jan 6th was bad…you’ll lose your primary
