This is one of those "sounds like a big deal on Twitter" kind of things then you realize that: 1) most OCs rarely do that 2) what the hell would it accomplish anyway? "Hey offensive line, stop sucking ass." "Oh **** Bobby thanks! Why didn't we think of that?? Ready? Break!"
Fate will come down to can they fix the OL in house or by trade Can Nico/Tank stay health and will Caserio go out and get another WR. If Tank and Nico stay healthy they can get by without a trade. No trade and one of them gets hurt and the Texans are done. How healthy can WA/secondary be come playoff time?
1. Why even have a gameplan if you aren't going to stick to it? 2. Agree, if you want to let the defense dictate what you do. Some of this is on Stroud. 3. All fans say this because they watch their teams. The WCO is a very predictable offense. 4. Agreed 5. Stroud has the authority to do this already.
Isn’t that the HC job? I see Demeco do it all the time. Always having a word with the players and coaches.
Demeco doing it more often than most coaches wouldn't surprise me. Being so recently removed from his playing days and such. My understanding is that the HC/OC/DC spend most of their time talking to each other, the booth, and lastly their position coaches. They've got a lot on their plate and often can't be bothered with the minutia of dealing with individual players.
1. You start off with a game plan, but if the game plan is not working or the DC has made adjustments then you have to Improvise, Adapt and Overcome (in simple words adjust).... 2 and 5 - With most young QB's they are they on a tight string and they are able or given the authority to audible 3. It's one thing for the fans to say this, it's another when you have announcers saying this.. T_Man
Bull Crap.... He has more players this year than last year... This year he also has a running game, which was not there last year... Stop making excuses for Bobby T_Man
Prior to going down 2 scores with 3 minutes left in the game, this was Bobby's playcalling against the Jets. Runs: 28 Passes: 32 (including the absolute wet fart of a halfback pass) Can someone tell me why the hell we're throwing the ball so much against a top 5 pass defense and a bottom 10 run defense, when A) the run is working well B) CJ is running for his life and C) the game is close? This is why Bobby sucks. He has no self-awareness.
When do you make these adjustments in game and how much do you deviate from your original game plan. We've been through this with the GK version of the WCO and Stroud has the ability to audible from a pass to a run and vice versa. The issue is with calling protections. I don't know if Stroud or Scruggs are calling them, but whoever is calling them is doing a terrible job. Announcers. If we can do this the announcements should be able to do this after watching a couple of hours worth of film. More importantly coaches should be able to do this by formation. Nobody's fooling anybody in the NFL for the most part. It's about execution. You either like the WCO and ZBS or you don't.
It's call NEXT Man UP.... Good Coaches make adjustments and you keep blaming any and everyone except for Bobby... Missing players is a freaking cope out.., Philly was without AB and they adjusted, all teams have injuries and they adjust.. You adjust your game plan to the strength of the players you have on the field. When those guys were on the field they still struggled... You can't call deep route plays every freaking down with the defense steady sending in 6 or 7 players.. Those plays are on the OC.. Stop making excuses for Bobby... T_Man
Now Im shaking my head at this questions... There is no set time in when you make adjustments... Good coaches will always and I mean always make adjustments.. Some will do it at the end of a quarter, some at the end of the half. Bobby is making a plan to succeed and not to fail, which means he will never be ready for anything that goes wrong and never have a back up plan. All teams look at film, but once a good coach picks up on a pattern he will then set in place a game plan to hone in on that weakness, it is now up to the opposing coach to adjust... Bobby does the same freaking game plan weak after weak and please don't call the WCO predictable... Bill Walsh was the Father of the West Coast Offense and he would never have the same game plan each week, he changed it up depending on he played. So it's not the offense style that's the issue, it's the person who using it or making the calls. T_Man
Players dont matter, you can just throw anybody out there, adjust and everything will be the same. LMAO This just in Woods/Metchie ain't Nico/Diggs and no amount of adjusting is going to make the team as good without Nico/Diggs as with them. Try to adjust with JJ Taylor instead of Mixon and tell me what you think that would look like. Now what Caserio should do is add a proven guy like Slayton/Meyers and hope Nico stays healthy. There's a reason Caserio traded for Diggs, it's because Metchie/Woods etc... aren't good enough to be a difference making WR2. Tell me other than Nico which WR on the Texans keeps DC's up at night.
So the answer is you dont know, you just want change. The WCo vs the WCO of the 80's is a totally different animal. The WCO can still be successful, but DC's have figured out how to defend it. So being successful comes down to talent. Or are you saying talent doesn't matter?
