Not entirely true. Though it's unlikely, it's possible that we could depress his value (due to his play, the way the coach uses him, his benching, etc) to the point that it's no longer a positive value contract. He's been benched 3 times this year so far, or is it 4? If we give him a "can't play Kanter" reputation, that contract could turn negative.

Ya i don't care about wins and losses this season, we're not trying to compete this season. What matters is developing the young guy, that's the hope for being able to compete in the future or at least know if we have the horses. It's why i'd be playing Reed more as well.

Totally different perspective, but I get it. I think it’s time to start winning some games and making a playoff push. It’s enough already imo

I get your point but I'm mixed on this subject. At what point do you start to trust your players and believe in them? The most extreme example I can think of is game 6 against the warriors a few years back, Curry was 0-10 with 0 points in the first half. But obviously Kerr didn't bench him. He doesn't care if Curry is 0-5 or 0-10 or 0-15, he thinks that next shot is going in. And so does Curry. And then in the second half, Curry came in and scored like 30 points on 80% shooting and ended our season.

I know Jalen and Sengun are not Steph Curry, obviously. But at what point do you start to believe in your players? When do you believe in their ability to figure it out, get it together, and turn it around? Rather than bench them and trust the backups to play better than the stars?

Well, ideal would be to strike up a balance of both development and record, result.

I like the contract. I also believe it more likely than not, that Alpi finds his way and that Ime finds better lineups to surround him and when/where to feature him.

But just like with the Jalen Green contract - by next season they are both highly moveable.

Lack of Defense but we have been top ten the last two years with him starting. Its not defense you're just grasping at straws. it's hilarious that you point to defense when Jalen green and FVV most nights are turnstiles on defense and sengun and now stevens have to make up for it to the point that even steven looked bad on d coving for them in a couple of games. you are a joke lol

Ya'll just making this **** up. What I am seeing is racism. Im familiar with it given im mixed. Im no Sengun only fan but since he has come to texas there seems to be, for some reason, some type of discrimination with him. He is judged not by how he actually plays but by how people see european players. "he doesnt play defense" "he cant rebound" those are stereotypical things people said about joker. Good thing Denver didnt listen but ofcourse texas is backwards and they'll listen to any prejudice anyone gives despite evidence to the contrary.

Ime needs to go. I choose Sengun over Ime. We can find a better coach youre not finding another Alpi.

A few nights ago, it was Eason and Thompson not getting enough minutes. Last night, it was Sengun. Everyone(?) now wants to see VV in the same boat. That might be coming, considering both Eason and Thompson played significantly more minutes than Brooks last night.

A great coach of a young team has a balancing act - winning now but also developing all the potential stars. I don't think Sheppard would get any minutes otherwise. The coach is going to make some mistakes during this balancing act. He's not hating on anyone or trying to send any message (unless it's about effort), he's trying to win. Last night, he went with the "steady" Freddy and the early season "star" closer, Green (for just a couple of minutes), while keeping Eason and Thompson in (aren't you happy with developing young players).

20/20 is he should have subbed out Thompson for Sengun, or go super small with both VV and Holiday.

He's doing a terrible job this season so far. Maybe Ime should be benched.

Silas, now Ime? I'm beginning to wonder, is it the coaching or is it Sengun?

It's both. Sengun plays one way, you need a coach that believes in that style. A lot of coaches do, a lot of coaches don't. Silas didn't, Ime doesn't, and I'm sure there are a lot of other coaches who don't believe in it as well. It's just not a good fit.

Ridiculous notion that the Rockets aren’t trying to compete and don’t care about their record after handing out almost $300mm in contracts to their two “stars” this offseason.

Oh i'm sure the rockets care, i said i personally don't care, as i don't think we're remotely close to title contention. To me, developing the guys is the 1st and only priority.

^^^This. As soon as he checked back in the game went down the drain. I was so mad…..There was no reason for him to check back into the game, especially when Reed was playing well.
