Eggers hasn't made a bad movie yet, so I'll definitely be seeing this one. I also just learned that he's working on a miniseries about Rasputin, which sounds awesome. Fun Fact: his middle name is Houston
It tells me the people behind it are confident that it can make a splash. As far as I'm concerned, they had me at Dafoe. He and Eggers are great together.
Was listening to an episode of the History That Doesn’t Suck podcast this past week about the original movie. Bram Stoker’s wife won a lawsuit in Germany ordering all copies of the film be destroyed, as the story is clearly a ripoff of Dracula. Obviously the execution on that court’s order wasn’t successful.

Friends, I know you know I’m terrified of horror movies because I value sleep. But I love vampire ****. I can’t wait to see this.
There is a signal of "not his best" in early returns, including from Stuckmann. Everyone seems to like it, but they often throw in that note. I don't care at all, and I'm definitely going to see it in a theater soonish.
Looks good, he's also created a documentary on the history of folk horror. Big fan of Vampire films and themes, will check it out
