Friends just got back from France, and one of the first people they met, in a rural community in the south, pigeon-holed them: "voting for Trump, yes? You must vote for Trump." People leaning into strongmen and far right regressive agendas is in no way a thing limited to America. (Unfortunately, IMHO.) Humans seems to do this every so-many decades -- let's try strongmen! nationalism! anger! over-simplifying people who look different! what could go wrong? -- until about half of the people get blown to bits, everyone loses family members, and then we calm down for a little while until we collectively forget again. What are you talking about. They just polled France and over 65% of French supported Harris. In Sweden/Denmark that number is close to 86%. In germany that number is above 70%. Voted today. I was happy it was very organized. There were an insane amount of workers that made sure it went smoothly from start to finish. They were strict in making sure everything was done fairly. Ran my ID, walked me to the booth. Printed my paper after I voted and walked it over to the machine to make sure it was counted. Donezo. Can't wait until it’s all over. Hope for everyone’s sake that the country can move forward after it’s all said and done.
