unless we drastically suddenly improve across the board from what we’ve shown this month thus far, this is a loss, of the blowout category

 

it's a pretty interesting matchup personnell wise. without out risk of being too brazen i'd say we have a lot pieces that could give the Mavs trouble.

Will there be halftime-hula?

 

In 2 gms he averaged 27/12/5 vs them last yr.

In 1 gm Lively had 8/5/2 vs them.

Should be fun!

Edit: Jalen on the other hand did not have his best. He's the one that's got a bounce back incoming. Again, should be fun.

 

Yeah I think this could be a good night for him for sure. We know he's got a strong competitive nature so I fully expect him to come out and assert himself.

 

I'm tampering my expectations. I expect a loss, but hopefully, it is not by epic proportions. Even more important is that we lose the right way. The ball is moving, the players are moving, and the effort and intensity are there, but they fall short. Is that too much to ask for? Probably.

The worst and most likely scenario is that the Mavs have control of the game from the start, and the Rockets start slow like always. Rockets rely far too heavily on ISO and spamming PnR with FVV/Jalen and ALP, and we lose in an ugly manner that is frankly not fun to watch, at all. If we are going to lose and be a middling .500 team, let's at least be enjoyable to watch.

 

I am expecting a 20+ pt. loss but am willing to be surprised.

 

Tough game, Mavs are a really good team. Sengun hopefully plays up to his standards tonight

Hate to say it, but Dallas is a tough matchup for this squad... the only game we beat them (1-3) last season, Luka and Kyrie sat out.

I want to see a lot of minutes for Amen tonight and try to keep him on Luka as much as possible, or Kyrie if Luka is resting.

We're a good defensive team, but still exploitable in PnR coverage by the very best operators because we lack the personnel.

Curious if to see if Ime does anything different tactically vs. last year. If not, expect a few easy empty side PnR lobs to Lively or Gafford, and expect Luka to probably cook us.

If I were Ime, I'd treat PJ Washington / Naji Marshall like a non shooter and have his defender squeeze the paint. If we lose because they hit shots, oh well. I'd also love to see us mix in some hard hedges when Luka puts Sengun in the PnR. Can't just show him the same defense the whole game.

 

GSW had a hula hoop lady that where the black dress lady was from. Think she appeared America Got Talent.
