I think he just preferred security on the go but definitely would have gotten more with another team. It was also securing himself a sum in case he gets injured again.
Eh he might peak into top 5 in his best seasons but he's usually going to hover around 5-10. There are dudes that have more alien like talents that make them more special and generational. Tatum is just really good at everything. I don't see anything so special about Tatum where I can't see a guy like Sengun or Green reaching that level if everything swings the right direction.
Olympics are different. Steph and Lebron are superstars there still. 82 nba game season and 16 playoff wins - Tatum is much better in 2024-25.

Our expected W/L is 3-1 and could have been undefeated if not for a few key possessions. As it stands, extremely early but our statistical projection net rating would be the fourth seed last year record wise. Things will balance out as time passes I think
It's probably going to take a few weeks for him to get back to his pre injury mobility and confidence. I'm fine with it as long as Green can "make up" for Alpi's slow start which he so far is.
Yeah doesn't seem to elevate as high when he jumps after injury. Or could be from all the added weight/muscle.
He’s currently the third best offensive rebounder in the league. I don’t think we can ask much more from him in this area. The posts calling him garbage in the last Spurs game were just idiotic. Alpi was getting double and triple teamed every time he got the ball in the post and still managed a double-double, 5 assists, and 2 stocks. If his teammates would spread the floor properly and move some, he might have a chance to improve his offense. Similarly, we give up so many offensive rebounds because too many of the other guys still don’t block out their man. I hope with some decent adjustments, Alpi has the chance to get his offensive mojo back. At the very least, he looks like a better 3pt shooter already and that will help everyone on the court.
He can be better. If you watch his games last year pre-injury, he moves a lot different now. There's some hesitations. While I agree he's better in some department, I fail to see the fire in his game most of the time.
Sengun is so amazing in a pau gasol number dos role he’s never had the skill set to be a number 1 player. he’s unique as **** and brings a lot of value as a numero dos.
No team needs multiple Alpha 1s. Some will have to submit somehow. It keeps the order and the winning.
To me the starter pecking order is Sen-Green are 1a/1b on any given day of week Then VV, and then Dillon/Bari and the bench has Amen n Cam/Eason as pecking order
The greater issue we're having is that our two mentors (FVV, Brooks) are too slow for the optimal tempo this team needs to run on offense. Sengun will adjust easily. We can't trade FVV unless it's for a better two way floor general that can shoot - very rare. Brooks is the one I think we should trade before benching him. One of Eason or Amen will beat him out before the end of the season. He's playing great but we must give more minutes to Tari and Amen - the starters need their dynamism, transition speed and rebounding. Tate is a perfectly fine 3rd string SF. Whitmore can give you some minutes here. Very good player but we've outgrown him. We're too good at that SF spot. I know it probably makes management nervous losing his experience but it's time to pass the mantle. We've got a lot of dogs on this team.
