The border is a security issue. Whether immigrants are violent or not there still is cross border smuggling of drugs, other contraband and people. You can address those and also have a humane and welcoming immigration policy.

You seem to be simplifying this issue down and frankly are making a false dichotomy out of the issue.

Anyway to the main topic the back and forth here shows that contrary to Rightwing rhetoric that Harris wants an open uncontrolled border show that her position is anything but.

Ideological purity exists on all spectrums including those who believe a compromise is needed based on Americans conditioned from click bait and "it bleeds it leads" to believe there is a border security issue and not a border exploitation issue to a point of agreeing to increase funding for an entity like the border patrol full of bigots, rapists etc. ideological purity exists even amongst centrists who believe compromise is the sign of ultimate maturity.

We've reached a situation where people volunteer their time to roam the dessert around the border region to shoot drum barrels with water inside them because they want to starve out migrants. There is no compromise with these people unless you are willing to compromise some humanity.

Once in a while Democrats can grow a spine and double down on their principles instead of of compromising humanity.

America's click bait media ecosystem has created a propaganda machine that created a society who believes violent crime has gotten worse in the past 20 years when it has gotten down and now politicians have to legislate based on the average American's detachment from reality because of our media ecosystem. It's pathetic all the way down.

Democrats trying to convince people who will never like them that they are also cruel to the same people they hate is a tale as old as post Reagan neo-liberalism.

Harris trying to convince people who believe she believes in open borders that she isn't is already a losing endeavor to begin with. Why even attempt to convince those people?

    Nope it's an exploitation issue.

Framing it as a security issue is what makes the average American, not even the average GOP voter believe migrants have disproportionately higher violent crime rates.

Not sure I'm following. If the United States is a single family home, then me wanting to get a ring security camera doesn't mean that I also have to shoot the cleaning lady & our electrician who come through our front door to help fix & clean things.

The Republican solution is to leave the doors and windows open, and shoot anyone walking by our house with a rifle because of rumors of a burglar in the neighborhood.

The Democratic party leaders (aka Harris campaign at the moment) seem to want to try a strategy of putting a ring doorbell camera on their house, and shutting some windows so that way they can let the people in the house a bit more secure that they know who is coming in and out of the house, and when the electrician comes to help, he can be let in and out without people freaking out that someone is breaking in.

The labor issue, and security issue are too things, and I am one who thinks the security issue isn't really an issue, but just a racist tactic to fear thy neighbor, and stoke division. The labor issue is different because we rely on cheap labor to consume cheap products so we can live more luxurious lives than folks in Europe can because they don't have the cheap labor we have. I would like to see a very easy way for immigrants to come here, get a green card easily, get good wages for fair work, get treated like humans, and contribute taxes where right now they are not contributing any.

The issue is Fcked. I know. I understand the strategy that the Harris campaign is taking, and I have yet to see a better pragmatic solution that actually could get Congress to pass it as a bill. If you have a better solution that you think Congress would be able to pass in a bill, lets hear it.

I find it odd the campaign says they don't agree with Tony, but they vetted his speech and even removed a section where he called Kamala a cunt.

She's stayed ahead for weeks, but that sure won't help Trump.

Former CA Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger endorses Kamala Harris and Tim Walz

In a lengthy post on the social platform X, former Republican Governor of California Schwarzenegger said he "hates" politics more than ever, is not happy with either political party and would prefer to "tune out."

But, he said, he is endorsing Democrats Harris and Walz because "I will always be an American before I am a Republican."

Schwarzenegger went on to harshly criticize Donald Trump for rejecting the results of the 2020 presidential vote.

The GOP isn’t the party he represented when he was in politics. If Regan came back from the dead entirely lucid, he wouldn’t recognize the Republican Party. Tens of Millions of former staunch Republicans have either jumped ship or just won’t vote. And that doesn’t even count the independents who won’t touch that diseased bloat with a 10-ft pole.

    Fix your ****, GOP.

"Fix your **** GOP", as the GOP is quickly changing from a white evangelical party to a diverse working class American policy.

"Fix your **** GOP", as the GOP has changed from the war and corporate party, to one of no new wars, natural ways to eat and heal, etc.

Personally the party that needs to fix their **** is the Democrats. You can come at a Trump supporter as a Harris supporter, so long as you come respectfully then there will be a conversation. It doesn't matter how respectful you are to a Harris supporter because you'll be attacked the minute you say you're voting Trump.

I wouldn't be so quick to point fingers at another political party when the one you rep has just as long of a list of problems.

I don't represent any party. Nice regurgitation of GOP propaganda. It's still a corporate party of hawks. It's still the Christian party. What they say doesn't measure up to what they do.
