Wow, voters are dumb. Expect Abbott to rename Harris County. To follow up on the ballot arson story. There were 2 attacks. One only damaged 3 ballots and those voters were contacted to replace their votes. The other fire was more serious and they are asking for people who used that box to contact the office to replace their ballot if it is missing. Probably not everyone will replace their ballots, but it seems like they at least have a process in place to safeguard the vote against attacks like this. The ballot box also had a fire suppression system that apparently failed. So, they planned for this, but execution was a little poor. What's more, they've identified the car of the attacker with security footage. So, he's probably going to jail. And I gotta wonder what he's thinking. A couple hundred votes in a presidential election in a non-battleground state does nothing. It can be a lot more influential in local races, but I'm betting this guy was not trying to influence a local election, especially since he hit 2 different states. Maybe it makes voters distrust the ballot boxes, but Oregon and Washington do all voting by mail so they'll turn toward the postal system instead of polling stations. So why go to jail for something so totally ineffective? Not the smartest guy in the world. Maybe just raging against the machine.

Lots of people realized they'd been lied to by that crooked con, and all his racist rhetoric isn't winning him more votes from minorities. What worries me more is that Trump's power hungry crooked yes men like Paxton and the rest will use any means possible to once again bring up lawsuit after lawsuit, and the MAGA politicians will push the election was stolen lies and conspiracy theories once again to defraud the people and decertify electoral votes that Trump didn't win.

Oddly enough speakers have called Harris the Anti-Christ several times.... these were by people invited to speak. Seems dumb and over the top to call her the Anti-Christ to me - especially if the shtick is supposed to be that she is an "empty vessel". Whatever - politics is different in 2024 than in the past so not sure it will even matter

Question for Trump supporters or potential voters who are "independent" and still claim to be making a decision: Which autocratic country in the world would you trade economies with?? If the reason why you are considering trading away Democratic norms for in the name of "the economy" tell us what track record of economic success there is with other autocratic countries??

In my family & the evangelical church culture it's the same as it always has been in terms of Revelations style projecting onto American political figures on the left. Obama was actually the biggest demagogued figure on the right in terms of prophecy that he was the antichrist and it's not even close. Kamala really hasn't been attacked on that notion nearly as much as Obama was. People in my family were convinced that Obama was literally the antichrist, and if you voted for him you were taking "The mark of the beast." The only difference is the mainstreaming of this nonsense by the MAGA Trump freakshow. Before it was there but it was at the smaller rallies, in the church groups, and spread fervently online. Now it's a co-headliner at MSG and broadcast live on CNN.
It isn't gonna help him, that's for sure. In fact, everytime he opens his vulgar lying mouth he pisses off more people and gives them incentive to vote. My guess is he's going to push a lot of first time voters, military voters, women voters, minority voters, young voters concerned about climate change, and even many former Republican voters who believe in Democracy, and that Trump is unfit to serve to the polls to cast their vote for Harris.
MAGA social media on X literally just makes up **** - like little fantasies of what they want to happen and then passes them off. They don't even try to bury it in a way for it to be believable or credible. They will report stuff that only like 2-3 people would know and pass it along as truthful - because they know that their followers will not question it - just read it and believe it and continue death scrolling.
I just don't get it, its like folks are getting off on fake stories just to prove their narrative.....its bizzarro world to be honest. I do think it's easier to believe if you really want to believe it's true, even if it isn't, its like a high...................only one more week but something tells me this won't be over for quite awhile. If trump wins, I dont see much happening until Jan, but if Harris wins, we will see chaos like we never have before. It would be a great time for the gop to kick trump to the curb if he loses as he will have ZERO purpose but that makes too much sense, so they won't. I fully expect trump to declare VICTORY before the night is out just to sow doubt into any results I have seen polls that are good and bad for both parties and TBH, I am done with them as anything more than a litmus test at best.
