Can I just say that last night was the first time since Harden that I felt like we had a true star. Close game. The opposing team is roaring back with all the momentum. The rival fans are going nuts. For the last several possessions, our typical PG defers to Green with a spread floor. Green's gravity then causes several good things to happen, including FVV's game-sealing 3. That is exactly what we've missed post-Harden.
Jalen's splits this season are 28.8/3.8/2.8 on 43% from the field and 41% from 3. These aren't unsustainable numbers. It's looked like his pre-season form has shifted into the regular season. Including the pre-season Jalen has had *one* bad game (Thunder). Thank you Draya.
What is noteworthy is that he shot 1 Game 30% and one game over 50%.....then one game 33% one game 54%... At least it has flattened from 1 Game 20% and one game 70%.
I think shooting .41 from 3 for the season is unlikely. However, I also could see him improving significantly from the field, balancing it out.
He's trending in the right direction in these first few games and it's undeniable that when he is on, he is one of the most dangerous players in the league. What's most impressive to me is that his improved defense helps him not be a negative when he is having an average game. Also, when he is on I have no problem with him shooting 22 shots but lawd puh-lease can we generate a few more easy shots for all of the players. More movement opposite the primary action. I know Ime can do it, because if I recall correctly after a time out they ran a designed play that got Bari a wide open 3 in the corner (which he knocked down thankfully). More of that please.
Cant take credit for that one it was already lingering around the interwebs from all the other times the Jaters have tried to flush 4
You missed an opportunity there, you should've just said "it was easy, I just put all the stupid reasons people discounted him on a sheet."
Have not watched the Spurs game yet, but I've now replayed the Memphis game, tracking Jalen's defense again. His performance against Charlotte was not a fluke. He's flipped a switch. He's locked in and playing D at an elite level. I'm super impressed. Is it coaching? Therapy? The new contract? Whatever it is: I'm shifting from sell to hold on this guy. Will try to catch up with the Spurs game next.
Now that you mention it, maybe Jalen worked out with Roosh this offseason and that's why he looks so good? Has anyone heard from Roosh?
The defense in the spurs game is just as good, if not better. He's a completely different player. Even if he has games where the shot isn't falling, he's a clear positive on the other end of the floor now. It's a total game changer for this team, and I think especially for a coach like Udoka. I think the days of Jalen being benched are in the rear view.
Right now Jalen is a top 3 scoring guard in the NBA. The only two guards that are scoring "better" (Volume + Efficiency) are Cam Thomas and Lamelo Ball.
I 100% thought bryce was better, and the ohio state qbs all suck, also didn't watch him in college (because i don't watch college football)
