So if he spent all his summer shooting 3s from 26 ft, is it not possible that it could affect the fine tuning of his 3 ft shots?

When you put on weight, you never needed any time to adjust? your shot stayed completely the same?

overrated defender. Really just long. Although he is quick for being 20 ft tall. I think he may be one of the most unskilled players to garner this much hype and attention in the history of the game. I don’t think anyone will be talking about him if he were 6’10. The guy can’t shoot or have a competent post game.

 

Wonder why the offense is taking 10+ seconds to run any actions after all that offseason talk about playing fast. Not sure if this was only happening when both FVV and Brooks were on the court, but it felt like it was happening the entire second half.

Jalen played well on both ends. Not quite at the level where you can consistently give him the ball and clear it out, but there’s something there. Up until that dagger 3, the FVV-Jalen only offense was awful. There’s gotta be a better system than “Hope Jalen beats his defender” or “Put FVV in a single PnR”. I think he only got 2 off ball shots the second half.

Sengun had his hands full. He was getting sped up and flustered all night. Tough to play that spurs frontcourt on consecutive games, but it’s something he’ll have to figure out. His track record is too solid to be worried about his performance at this point.

Jabari with a quiet but solid performance. Had his clutch moments on both ends. Need to get him more corner 3’s. Seems like he always leaves those wing and key jumpers short. Didn’t notch any counting defensive stats, but he was contesting and rotating consistently.

Props to Brooks for matching up with Wemby pretty much minute for minute. Might not be the defender he used to be, but he still brings that 1:1 battle mentality that kinda makes up for it.

Wasn’t impressed with the bench. For a bunch of long athletic defenders, they were getting outworked on the boards. Amen was looking like Jeremy Lin, driving to the hoop and getting stuck mid-air. Tari couldn’t defend without fouling, even before that bs Chris Paul flagrant.

Ugly win, but whatever. A good test where dudes needed to step up and make something happen and they did.

 

@Bobbythegreat fraud who once said the only thing Jalen had going for him is “athleticism”. No other analysis on his game or attributes. This shows the ignorance of the game in itself. Scoring consistently is difficult at any level and especially in a professional league where teams trap or play switch zone etc. And we have seen Green’s evolution in both offensive decision making and defense. But Bobby the Great fraud and his cohorts don’t understand this. They thought Amen was a “bad” idea player as well.

I agree with you, the stupidity of our fan base never ceases to amaze me. Just be happy we won and that Jalen is playing great basketball, the others will come around.
