Jabari needs more shots. He’s one of the best shooters on this team. Let’s get him involved in the offense and get his confidence up.
It's coming. Eventually a lineup of: Sheppard Green Amen Jabari Sengun Will give him more shots in my opinion. Sheppard/Amen/Sengun gives the ball up often with the right play. Jalen's one of 2 assists in this game was to Jabari as well.
I would agree. The offense does no favors to any Rocket. Jalen has improved due to maturity and fixing his shot mechancis, and Tari thrives in chaos and no crédit should be given to the coaching staff.
Honestly, I'm beginning to think a lot of our players are not put in positions to succeed offensively.
Its crazy Jabari and RS were both prolific 3 pt shooters and then forgot how to shoot day 1 of the season.
This. In reality there are not offensive geniuses everywhere as for coaching goes. Teams have to put up with the personnel coaching wise that they have.
This is the Jabari we need he wont get 16 rebs every game but he can always be active and aggressive going to the rack.
When the majority of the main players are having subpar shooting efforts, it’s pretty evident. I was called a hater last season when I said our offense was still as rudimentary as the Silas era.
What he needs is to better understand his role and keep his game simple and effective, like what he did in this game.
Umm...he almost always tries to be simple and effective. He's got to shoot better. He's got to defend better. I think long term, he'll add more handles. Not sure what that will bring usage wise. I expect he'll shoot better. The defense is a little more concerning for me.
Tari looks like Tari. He'd look like Tari in any situation. Not amazing. Not great. Like a more physically imposing Jaesean Tate with much less touch around the basket. Let's take a look at everyone else: Reed- worse Bari - worse Cam- worse Amen- worse Sengun- worse Jalen- better FVV- same Dillon- same Like last night Ime put in Reed for 3 minutes. Amen looks indecisive now because he's in between last year's dunker spot role and on ball role. Sengun feels similar to me. He's now trying to be this Jokic/Dirk hybrid thing and it's just not working. He seems tentative to shoot the outside shots he claimed he was working on all summer (except for the 3s which he's hitting). Now he's missing bunnies constantly because his cadence is all out of whack. Everyone outside of Jalen just seems like they're out of rhythm. It's like we replaced the FVV/Sengun two man game of last year to a FVV/Jalen two man game this year and everyone else just stands and watches. If it wasnt for Jalen this team would be 0-4.
