I'm a 90s kid and heard that stuff all my life when we'd joke around (and I grew up in a real diverse side of Houston). It just doesn't offend me.
If you think of horror movie tropes, either the black person gets killed first or they have the most sense to get out of dodge asap... But seriously, there's only so much for you to overanalyze and Ask Simple Questions without cracking open a history book and look it up. Jessie Owens and the 1936 Olympics come to mind. Hitler and Goebbels really wanted to gaslight that Olympics into a picture perfect moment, and this was way before the Carnage and eventual gas furnaces,
It might turn a non-voter into a voter. It might turn a R Leaning voter into a D leaning voter. In a 50/50 race, the margins matter. 50% of eligible voters do not vote. BTW Kamala only enjoys a 57/39 advantage over Trump.
That's the point "We'd joke around". There is a huge difference between a black guy calling you the n word and a white guy
No there are not a lot of pictures of black people in concentration camps in Germany. For one thing, there were not a lot of black people in Germany. Most of the black people in Germany came post WWI and were soldiers that were occupying and keeping order in Germany after they lost the war. They hated that Africans of all people were in their country, because Germans felt Africans were subhuman and only a few decades earlier Germans had camps in Africa and were imprisoning native Africans and taking the land for German expansion. By the time of the concentration camps, most black Germans had left or already were killed. There number was so low that they were an after thought for extermination and Hitler had a supplemental law passed to imprison and kill them. Most of the African Germans at that point were b*stard children from German women and African soldiers that once occupied Germany. They ended up in camps - if I remember it was less than 50 people, because there were so few left. As to groups that are not Jewish in camps - you will find those everywhere - many times people assume they are Jews - but they are sometimes what were then called Gypsies, Communists and homosexuals. I don't think there is any conspiracy - there are lots of discussions and articles on other groups that were targets by Nazi Germany, just that the largest group and best organized are Jews - and there are even articles on black people in camps and their treatment, but it was a very small number of people. I have people in my family that were in concentration camps that were not Jewish, not Communist, not homosexual or anything other than Polish ... they would send foreigners to work camps, then to extermination camps.
Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin Boost Kamala Harris After Trump Rally Speaker Bashes Puerto Rico as a ‘Floating Island of Garbage’ Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin were among the notable industry figures who boosted Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris on Sunday after a speaker at Donald Trump‘s political rally at New York’s Madison Square Garden called Puerto Rico “a floating island of garbage.” The starkly racist comment stirred outrage among prominent Puerto Ricans and many others in media and entertainment. “There’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico,” said Tony Hinchcliffe, a comedian and podcaster who was one of many speakers before Trump took the stage at the famed concert arena on Sunday evening. Hinchcliffe’s comments were a offensive low even for a Trump rally, as evidenced by the muted response from the crowd. Hinchcliffe immediately and defensively responded “OK, OK” as he heard scattered boos and little applause. Hinchcliffe made other grossly derogatory statements about Latino and Black people earlier his remarks. In response, Bad Bunny, one of the world’s biggest music superstar with more than 45 million Instagram followers, boosted Harris’ campaign video targeting voters in Puerto Rico and noting what a contentious relationship that Trump had with the island during his tenure in the White House. Lopez posted Harris campaign material targeted at Puerto Rico as well as the same video pitch that Bad Bunny boosted. Singer-actor Ricky Martin, with 18.6 million Instagram followers, did the same thing on his Instagram Stories feed, adding the comment “I remember” on the Harris video. He also included a clip of Hinchcliffe’s “garbage” comment. What’s more, Martin asserted that his X posts with the same content were being suppressed on the platform formerly known as Twitter and now owned by avid Trump supporter Elon Musk. Trump’s event drew wide live coverage across Fox News and other news networks, social media platforms and digital platforms. It was notable for the appearance of former first lady Melania Trump, who introduced Trump before he took the stage. Melania Trump has kept a low profile on the campaign trail during her husband’s third run for the nation’s highest office. Luis Fonsi, the Puerto Rican singer who had a worldwide smash in 2017 with “Despacito,” also reposted the Harris video and added a comment. “We are not OK with this constant hate. It’s been abundantly clear that these people have no respect for us and yet they want our vote,” Fonsi wrote. “I purposely wrote this in English cause yes we’re American too.” The Trump campaign tried to separate itself from Hinchcliffe’s comments after the rally in a statement to the New York Times: “This joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign,” senior adviser Danielle Alvarez told the Times.
Puerto Rico has been used as a guinea pig by the US in a lot of ways - and a lot of soldiers come from there as well.... it is a sensitive situation..... calling Puerto Rico floating garbage probably wasn't a good idea when you consider some of the tensions and issues involved.
The fake outrage fails once again. Perhaps Tony should have made the punch line more clear, and also perhaps people shouldn't lead with their emotion/sensitivity so much:
the Dem hysteria this week is going to be turned up to eleven nothing is off the table to try and terrify voters
Republicans are in damage control. That joke may swing Pennsylvania to Harris. There are around 600, 000 Puerto Ricans living there.
The dumbass you shared said he had to go down a rabbit hole to find this. You are an unserious clown.
A rabbit hole? It is right there on PBS: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/b...-zika-puerto-rico-struggles-as-trash-piles-up Several other mainstream sources had this info as well. Nice try though. A terrible comparison. Saying the n-word does not have the same feel as the watermelon joke. That should have been clear but I guess I needed to spell it out for you "smart guy".
Read the Xeet again. He said he had to go down a rabbit hole. If you have to go down a rabbit hole to research a "joke",it isn't a joke
It doesn't matter what rabbit hole he went down. Did PBS not produce an article on this before? Did several other mainstream sources not do the same? Sure he may have gone down the rabbit hole but several others did not. Besides that's a hella weak argument. "Hurr durr he went down a rabbit hole!". Does that make the story untrue? They will probably try sending people dressed as Nazis to Trump rallies like lincoln project did . https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/oct/30/lincoln-project-glenn-youngkin-virginia-event
