Trump is and has always been a narcissist and a conman. Hitler was truly evil partly because He was a true believer in his own movement. It was the same with Mao and Pol Pot. Trump isn’t a believer in an ideological or philosophical movement. As such I don’t think he would ever be willing or have the capacity to either undertake a Long March or plan and build a Reich. He likes the spectacle and is drawn to the strongmen rhetoric and imagery but at his hear he’s a huckster who wants to make money and keep himself out of jail.
Yes. The worry isn't Trump's will to endure the dedication and work to install a new fascist regime. The worry is with who he appoints to positions in the executive branch. Listening to JD Vance on Meet the Press and he's claiming again that others who were in the room with Kelly and Trump said that what Kelly said was untrue. I've yet to see anyone actually come out and counter Kelly's claims. Besides that the usual lying or spinning of the truth. For example Trump did to go after his political opponents with the DOJ. His previous AG and others in the DOJ have confirmed that. In the meantime Biden took a total hands off approach regarding prosecutions of Trump. In fact one of the big complaints from Democrats was that Garland wasn't aggressively prosecuting Trump.
