Heck Brooks has 8 Morse rebounds - and is a +36 vs Bridges -20 and Bridges has scored 1 more point this season while taking 2 more shots per game

Kinda makes you wonder why so many people were really bullish on trading for Bridges really...

They just believe the hype in names and don’t actually watch the games or look at stats - you have to also look how that player will fit our system coming in to be #4-5 behind Jalen Alpi and FVV

No it doesn't. You know why? Because now he has expectations he won't live up too. All the false narratives about him being a top 5 bigman will be laughed at, while Jalen prospers lol

So you're not a Rockets fan then? Why does this scenario you just described make you happy? You want us to have wasted 185 mil on a contract, for what reason? So you can jerk yourself off in celebratory self aggrandization that you're "smarter" than other people? Is that fandom to you? Comes across pretty pathetic in all honesty. I'm one of the biggest Jalen homers here, doesn't mean I don't want both him and Alpi to succeed and hit their potential so we can win as many games as possible. Seems you're more bothered about your one man circle jerk (messy, ewwww) than the team actually doing well?

He is definitely a rockets fan, but he's in the category of "I'd rather be right to the detriment of the team". I have a friend who is exactly like this. His team drafts a player and he says "this guys a bust", and then he would rather that player be a bust than be a star. He just wants to be right above all. Even if his team would obviously be better off if that player was a star.

So you're not a Rockets fan then? You readily admit that "being right" is more important to you than the good of the team, and you'd be over the moon if we just wasted 185 million on a worthless contract? Just want to clarify.

Exactly, I couldn't have put it better. I cheer for both Jalen and Sengun to exceed the value of their contracts. Rachetchump just wants to be right, which he won't be, but that's all he/she cares about .

Fan must mean something different then where he's from. Where I'm from that's not a fan, that's a fraud.

Yeah fair enough. I give him a lot of **** for it. But he does have a lot of jerseys, watches all the games, goes to a lot of games, etc. It's a very weird situation, call it what you want. They are his team...but he would rather be right, to their detriment. He's an odd guy.

Does your friend by chance run a popular, wonderful Houston basketball fan forum?

I just can't consider somebody a fan/supporter if they're actively rooting for a team to fail in any way. Buying jerseys and going to games only goes so far. There's a lot of people who do both of those things we call a "glory hunter" where I'm from because there's 2 top-tier soccer/football clubs in the same city yet people will often only be "fans" when they're winning. Nobody would consider them a fan though, despite them often going to every game in a season and owning every jersey they have available in the store. "Plastic fans" is another term. Fandom shouldn't be shallow, at least not how I was raised into it. My dad raised me telling me he'd disown me if I even thought of marrying a fan of a rival club. I dunno, it just rings hollow to me if people are actively campaigning against team success. I feel like you shouldn't be allowed to enjoy it when it comes if you were actively wishing for it to fail. It's like those glory hunters/fairweather fans, if you're not there through the hard times, piss off in the good times too, you know? I didn't stop being a fan when Yao went down, I cheered for Scola, and Budinger and Martin and Battier and Chuckwagon etc etc. I didn't bail when Beard did. I feel like a real fan can't cheer for failure when you've had it forced on you against your will, regardless of whether you like a player or their fans or not. I think a lot of those SOF's are absolute ****ing morons, I'm sure a lot of Jalen haters think I'm an absolute ****in moron, but we should ALL be rooting for the team to succeed so that we get that beautiful moment of seeing our guys raise that trophy. Maybe it's just me though, i dunno?

They blew it when they drafted Sheppard over Edey. They blew it when the drafted Smith over Ivey/Murray. These are not mistakes that can be overcome. We will forever regret not taking Edey as we’ll have nobody to stop Wembly for the next ten years. He eats the pathetic Sengun defense for lunch.

So you strongly believe that Edey can stop Wemby?

I think the one player who has been far below his potential this season is Amen Thompson. Small sample size, but the advanced stats are awful. I am confident he will improve.

You responded to a post about our offense being bad by complaining we didn't draft a player who completely sucks on offense, weird.
