The reason why I say they play better, is because they play as a unit without Sengun. With Sengun, everything is being ran through him, so the majority of the plays only him, FVV or Jalen are touching the ball. It takes Dillon and Jabari or whomever the other two players are, out of the game.

I'm not saying Sengun is a bad player, by no means. He's good but not great. However, it's all about fit.

I literally said he didn't play well. But it's more cus of scheme. Notice when he gets the ball how many defenders shade the paint for him, since we have no consistent three point shooters teams would rather he pass and watch us fire up bricks.

I still don't know what you watching to say we run everything through Sengun. I feel like he barely touches the ball is just out there as a screen setter and doing cardio. I wish they would give him the ball more in high post and run motion offense around him, it would make things so much easier. Instead when he does get the ball we got 4 guys watching and 3 dudes doubling him because teams don't think we can shoot.

I agree 100%. Jabari is easily one of the best shooters on our team. It's just that we never run any plays for him and he never really gets any rhythm and now his confidence is definitely impacted. If anything, I think they need to give him more shots and run plays specifically for him. Our team has a horrible shot selection, I think actually giving Jabari some of those midrange shots and fadeaways would increase our efficiency (I'm assuming he would start hitting more of them with boosted confidence).

You're right, this is mental for him. I could easily see a scenario where another team uses him better and he becomes dead eye shooter again that he really is.

High post and motion is not what the Rockets do. Last yr, the ball was being funneled through Alpi. The PNR. Same for this yr, that's why other teams are packing the paint. You can't have it both ways with this team. We don't have good enough shooters to continue playing through Alpi.

Alpi needs high post and motion to be effective, everybody else is good at getting up the court.

If you go back and look at Jabari's play in March during Jalen's run, he was getting shots and more involved.

I do believe Jabari can score inside and out but because he isn't getting consistent touches, his confidence has taken a hit

In the 2nd quarter: Spurs were more physical playing defense on the perimeter, in the paint, and on the boards. As a result, our ball movement was non-existent during that 9+ minute stretch and we kept settling from dumb contested shots. Plus some bad luck missing the few open shots that we had.

Meanwhile, the Spurs were getting to the rim with absolutely zero resistance (like a hot knife through butter). Even if they did miss, 2nd and 3rd chances were granted via offensive rebounds. It was 42-38 with about 9:30 left in the 2nd. I think the half ended on like a 20-3 run

Its a Hip Hop thing saying,

"Lie to you, make it sound fly to you "

So you probably don't get it or just not hip enough.

This theory also make no sense. Alpi is a great outlet passer and one of our best rebounders. If we wanted to run we could run with him. Problem is we sub him out and can't get a rebound and still can't run.

He took 11.0 shots a game last season. During the streak he took 11.1 shots per game (not counting his 3 shot game where he played 10 min). I assumed what you said was not true because you said it so i checked, and of course what you said was not true.

No, I'm 40 years old, I was a teenager when Goodie Mob were big. That's how I know how old it is, and how corny it is to use it the way you did. Especially in 2024.

No, problem is Alpi is not consistent at two things, rebounding and defense. Your center has to be consistent at that in order for a team to run.

That's why he was benched. Hopefully he's better on Monday

so your solution to not having enough shooters is to get rid of Sengun. That’s hell of a plan!

Just about every post of this guy is dissing Sengun. Same with another guy who dissed Reed with every post even before the season started. Thankfully, he stopped. But the anti-Sengun guy is so obsessive with dissing the team's best player that maybe he needs help. It is part of being a fan to criticize and diss players in their team, but constantly and consistently doing it with or without reason is weird.

The same Sengun who's improved from 29% from deep on 2 attempts a game to 42% so far? Yeah he's just full of it. Sengun's showing great improvement as a shooter in his time in the league
