No it is an exhibition game. But it will be on ESPN+ if you want to watch. The first one that counts on WL record will be at home on 11/4 against Jackson State. Don't see any TV info on it yet.
I like it. Repping the team and one of my favorite Cougars well. Of all the recent Coog alums he may have the best chance to stick for a long while on an NBA roster. Still finding his way and making a few mistakes but I like the fact that at least he is getting some playing time in Toronto. BTW don't forget UH vs TAM exhibition game today at 4 PM on ESPN+. Season opener on Nov 4th against Jackson State is also going to also be on ESPN+ at 7 pm. Favorite time of year as a sports fan is finally here.
They looked good. Like really, really good. Arceneaux killed it, the OU transfer looked very solid, and Mercy Miller looks like he could be a big time scorer.
My take after watching yesterday's exhibition game against Aggy is that our team in going to be very, very good this year. We dominated an opponent that is also returning four of it's starters from last year and preseason ranked 13th. Final score had us winning by 15 but it never felt that close; more like a blowout from start to finish. We controlled the boards against a team that is known for their ability to rebound. Mercy Miller is going to be hard to keep off the floor this year. He looks like a bigger, stronger Marcus Sasser. Once he learns to play defense he is going to be incredible. Arceneaux, Walker, and Wilson looked better than expected. These three along with Tugler and Mercy Miller coming off the bench as a second unit represent a group that is going to be able to rest our starters with very little drop off in talent. Odd man out appears to be Chase McCarty. There is so much talent on this team I would not be surprised is they redshirt him. Hope he sticks around. Unfortunately there are only so many minutes of playing time to go around. Our new point guard, Milos Uzan, will never be Jamal Shead, but from what I saw yesterday I can see why CKS hand picked him to take over the reigns. He had a solid game and played with confidence. So happy that Cougar Basketball is back for another year. It's going to be a fun ride.
