ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Spurs 10/26/2024

We didn't get the win..but what Jalen Green did tonight is what star players are supposed to do.

 

We have a bunch of mental midgets in this team

 

I'm fine with the first one, because he tends to hit that top of the three pull up for whatever reason. The other one was just hubris, he got the rebound, saw he was open, and took the shot. At least it was open. It's only a bad shot because he missed it though. If he made it no one would say its a bad shot. Because he was wide open.

At the end of the day that's not why we lost that game. Just like Sengun's end of the game TO was not why we lost the first game.

Rockets played like garbage for like 3 quarters and were fortunate to get in the game thanks to Green and Cam but people really giving Sengun a pass tonight. He was a complete negative. If he has an average game we win this game.

 

Or how about this. If you're a 6'11 post up center you don't allow yourself to get shut down by Jeremy Sochan and score 6 points?

 

People can criticise him as much as they want, but he's the one who willed us into contention for this game. Maybe they should start treating him as the alpha dog/Batman rather than the Robin and see how that works out. He fought and kept barking whilst Sengun rolled over and had his tummy tickled.

 

Even if Jalen did get that call at the end of the game, it would’ve been 2 FTs for us, then fouling the Spurs again with like 2-3 seconds left in the game and us taking a full court heave shot for the game.

Man I was hoping for a better start to the season.

Ime dude you have to install some semblance of an offense. 9 min offensive drought is just unacceptable with NBA players on the court.

 

If I were the Rockets’ coaching staff, I’d be looking at tape of Mike Brown’s offensive actions between De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis to see if I could implement similar actions with Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun.

Sengun in Sabonis’ role and Green attacking downhill and in the mid range like Fox.

this team doesn't know how to run a fast break. it's fugging sad

 

Ime need figure it out what rotation fit us

lol I been saying it forever - it’s why Jalen usually has great 2nd qtrs when Alpi sits …Ime has to do a better job or staggering minutes so we can take advantage of them both.

I would play Reed more with Alpi and use Bari at 5 more with Jalen

 

Sengun has shown he will give you buckets. Sengun doesnt get shut down, The opposing team schemes to shut Sengun down. Ime has no offense to get Sengun buckets when the whole team is on his ass. so he has to sit.

guess who gonna be open when Sengun and Jalen got the whole team on them. BARI!

bari MUST make his shots.

 

Sabonis gets into his actions quicker on everything he does. Sengun, this season more than ever just seems slow to react and he's not explosive like Sabonis either.
