If we will ultimately not be a very efficient offense, average at best imo, rebounding does become vital to our success.

 

This can't work all the time. The Rockets need one more 3 shooter in their lineup.

 

Your probably right in order to become a contender.

But right now i don't think so. To be the playoff team we strive to be, its gonna be on the back of a scrappy, rebounding and defending team.

 

You know the old saying: Sometimes the best offense is a missed shot.

Bari just had 14 points and 16 boards with the second highest +/- on the team. Perhaps we can chill out with the "he should be benched" nonsense for one game?

 

We don’t need shooters - we need our shooters to hit their shots. FVV, Green, Jabari, Reed, Csm and even Brooks and Tari are or should all be at least good from 3pt range. Really only Amen, Sengun and Adams are bad (and I think I see improvements from Amen and Sengun).

 

This is a really good point. Conceptually, we should not be bad from 3.

Also, we shot 39.5% from 3 tonight.

 

Im not hating on Bari. I continue to stress patience with Bari. But he’s not a starter right now. And while I’m happy he asserted himself on the boards last night, his shooting and all around offensive game just isn’t good enough yet. I don’t like the fit with the starters. I’d just like to see what a different starting rotation looks like. Maybe Bari can be more assertive offensively off the bench?

 

I hope he proves me wrong but I don’t see much upside in his offensive game. He can’t create, he can’t put the ball on the floor and he is not mobile off ball, not a lob threat or athletic enough to take advantage, not quick either. Almost has no particular strength. So I don’t think bench unit will help him.

the only path I see for him to become excellent on defense and shooting, to be a starter in the nba.
