I’ve talked about this a million times, but I will never tire until it is a reality. Amen, Tari, and Jabari need to be getting 30+ mins a night and if Jalen keeps up the defensive intensity, we will have the best perimeter defense in the league. And forget about offensive rebounding, we will be incredible. On another team, Dillon will make a fine 20-25 minute role player. We just don’t have the minutes for him. Please Stone, do your job and find a trade for Dillon. You can keep Tate as an emergency SF. Every win counts in the WC. We would be 2-0 if Ime handled his rotations correctly in game 1. We can’t waste time this year.

None of those guys are comparable. The lowest paid - McDaniels - started 72 games averaging 30 mpg for playoff team before signing his deal. Tari just isn’t there yet.

I think Tari is going to be a super-sub for us for as long as we hang onto FVV. Once he and Dillon are gone, he will probably get a starting opportunity unless we get Giannis or another star wing. I don’t think his first extension will be a max as a result, but he could easily get 25-30m if healthy.

Tari has Kawhi potential. All he needs is to stay healthy and get minutes.

Naz Reid got $14m / 8% of the cap. I think he’s a better player comp than who you listed.

Naz Ried and Austin Reaves contracts confuse me for sure, I do think Easons player mold is a lot closer to the guys I listed than Naz though.

I guess you’re trying to a similar level of player, on that point I don’t even know. Naz is very talented but I guess has some defensive limitations that hold him back.

At $25m I'd lock him up.

Brooks needs to up his game if he wants to keep starting.

Guys, Tari has never been a starter, averaged 10 pts per game, or played more than about 20 minutes per game. He's probably not going to do any of those things this year; Ime has said they want to take it easy with his minutes.

Any comps to guys like McDaniels, Trey Murphy, Jalen Johnson etc. are way out of whack. All of those guys were established starters playing starter's minutes and excelling against starting lineups 30 minutes per night.

Don't get me wrong, I love Tari, want him to be a Rocket for a long time, and think the organization feels that way too. But he's on track to get a Deni Avdija, Isaiah Stewart, Corey Kispert kind of contract, ~10% of the cap per yr and declining, which would be ~$90-$100M/5. Even all those guys had more starts and minutes than Tari, and didn't have the injury concerns.

And this will be great for the Rockets long-term, and isn't an insult to Tari, who IMO is better than those players. Just like Sengun signing on a less than max deal isn't an insult to Sengun.

Tari was a 6th man in college too. I don’t mind him there.

However, the faster that Amen and Reed takeover this team as starters, the better. Reed is going to be a little b*stard on D too.

Yeah i don't think Reed will ever be one of those lock-down types (too small tbh,) but I do think he'll always get those sneaky steals and piss a lot of PG's off by catching them unawares and his active hands should let him pick the pocket of many a player on the drive as a help defender for sure.

Not having Brooks would help Amen, Tari, and even Cam get more minutes and continue to get better as well.

I’d also like to see Brooks traded, benched or humbled. I don’t want him taking more than a few shots each game and they need to only be spot up three-pointers. I’m tired of watching him. Try to create for himself or others.

Amen would shoot the 3 worse But would create more and is the better defender and rebounder. Tari would create just as little as Brooks But is the better defender, rebounder and probably better three-point shooter.

The only advantage that Brooks has is that he is pretty effective as a low post defender.

I think he has served his purpose. Last year it was new coach, new mentality and he was needed for that culture change. Now I think it's time to get rid of him and replace him with younger fellas

Trade FVV and Brooks. Run Thompson, Green and Eason lineups

He played amazing today and might be evolving as a player.
The second-highest impact stats next to Jalen this game, very high TS% filled the stat sheet in 19 minutes mostly off-ball.
He's learning to play make a bit more now too.

I dunno man, I think DB sets the tone. I am not sure we keep it up every single night without him.

I told you guys Tari would go next level if he stayed healthy. Gotta admit I thought it would take a few games longer for him to ramp up.

He is hitting the 3-ball at a decent clip. That is all he needs to do to be a wing/combo forward version of Jru Holiday or White for the Celtics. He is making himself some money! I would put him ahead of Jabari in the pecking order for a decent extension next summer
