I believe win or lose Jalen had a good game. Sure, he took some low-IQ shots in the fourth (some even went in) but I don’t believe that negates what he did the rest of the game. The Grizzlies were on the verge of running away with the game in the 2nd quarter before Green put a stop to that with his defense, offense and hustle.

You tell me, is 50% from 3, 4 assists, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and a block a good game? Face it, you either didn't watch the game or you just know nothing about basketball.

 

tari, amen and reed minutes are going to be crazy. that's an all hands lineup

 

Jalen hasn't been hyper efficient these two games but I feel like last year these types of games he would've ended up 3-16 for 11 pts and an L. 9/23 so far from 3 for 39% on the season. So far so good.

Jabari was everywhere today. Really good game for him to build on. Great block he had on Edey as well. Was probably our most consistent presence when things were rocky.

Amen had a bad game in terms of turnovers but him being in there in the 3rd turned the game around. He just brings a different dimension to the defense and the break vs FVV.

Cam was a sparkplug as well. Reed had a good cameo and the vets also had a good showing. Good game outside of that rocky 1st quarter.

 

This place was on the brink of nuclear meltdown in the 3rd.

 

Yes its still a good game for him, he shot 50% from 3 and played great defense. Do you even know good defense when you see it?

Jalen has the same FG% as Sengun and Jabari why are you acting like he shot the team out of the game?

He box score watched, so all he see is jalen 8-21 and that is a horrible game in his eyes

 

I believe that he will get there. Based on the 2 games so far, I am seeing growth and that is what I was hoping for. I can probably say confidently that if you ask the best 2-way players around the league and all of them would say that having the same intensity on defense and maintaining that same level of intensity on offense from 1Q would probably be the toughest thing to do and most of them pace themselves throughout the course of the game.

I actually think she's the least attractive of the 3 lol. Why do white girls like dyeing their hair grey?

 

Last year he wasn't giving the same defensive intensity which is why coach yanked him several games and limited his minutes. If he plays with this defensive intensity, coach will keep him in the game.

Look at Cam, he started playing some really tough D and it forced Ime to keep him in the game. Just gotta play D and the rest will come together.

 

Yeah I've been one Jalen's biggest critics and so far this year I am liking his effort on the defensive end. It was always my biggest complaint with him, never cared if he made or missed shots but you see some real effort on the other side of the ball from him so far.

Now if he only got the Ja Morant whistle he would be a true star. Still think he settles for threes too much but probably because he never get calls.

I 100% agree with you about that last comment.

It's not the pacing himself and coasting on defense (there are plenty of possessions throughout games where any player defensively can do that to rest)

It's the zero IQ decisions he makes or mental lapses which were there in the first quarter which is where my issue with him lies.

(and just so we're all clear, it's not just Jalen. Brooks - the person who is meant to be key defensively - makes just as many if not more laughably bad decisions defensively as Jalen. Which is why personally watching Amen is a breath of fresh air on that side of the ball, his defensive IQ especially for someone who is still essentially a rookie, is phenomenal)
