We are making basketball look hard right now. Idk how we managed to escape that half down by 6 with Morant running everywhere he wants to and Bane not missing.

Jalen and Jabari with hustle and defense? Fred and Reed actually hitting 3s probably too.

    Something feels off.

This is the only good thing. You'd think they'd cool off and then we can make a move.

Won't happen if we keep giving them open shots.

Amen has been and is overrated by Rockets fans. A guard who’s scared to shoot and can barely dribble. Dude never had to learn how to hoop. He’s always played down(oldest on the court) and chose to go a sideshow bob league.

Yeah he hasn’t played well at all.

This team needs an Alpha. I don’t see one.

Fred is trying but he is not the most talented, it makes it real hard......

We just gotta accept Jabari is going to be a larger Ariza. Whatever we couldn’t pick Paolo or Chet anyways.

I get it but it's more generally about the idea of Smith being a switchable defender on the perimeter.

    He really isn't.

Hopefully being benched wakes Sengun up in the 2nd half.

I need my calm, patient and under control goon back. Not this erratic head down into the defender guy.

Silly me for thinking things would be different after an offseason.

    Nope.

Sengun still being yanked and blamed for perimeter players defensive mishaps.

Jalen being good for 2 minutes to go with being terrible for 10+ minutes.

Entire quarters where the team's best player never gets the ball in position to do anything with.

Shep can hit 3s though when he's not being guarded like glue, so that's something.

They really trotting out 2.5 non starter players in the starting 5 aren't they.

At this point it’s time to to start trading for shooters. Shooting is a premium. During the harden era we didn’t take the next step until we signed shooters like Anderson and Gordon. We couldn’t shoot the year before

I believe this to be a much more balanced assessment. JMO....but sticking him in the corner for 3 pt. shots largely removes him from offense when not hitting the 3 which he has not done well of late. You want to talk bench ? Ours is being outscored 30 to 12 ! You know the bench that should be played MORE...umm, OK.

What's fascinating to me is I used to work in minor league basketball (IBL 99-00) and we had the scorer's tables with moving graphics back then. I cannot believe there is not newer technology 20 years later.

Also cannot believe that rinky dinky league was actually ahead of the curve on something.

Thinking Sengun is getting unwarranted blame defensively shows me you have a bias.

Edey got nothing else to do, he isn't really counted on to be an Offensive force like in Summer League.

Even though we saw repeatedly last season Sengun be an utter alpha when... crazy.... he was allowed to be.
