Many of you think I may have started this thread to "joke" or to "own" people like @AroundTheWorld or @Commodore or @Kemahkeith or whoever else is posting here that I may have forgotten to name check. Nothing can be further from the truth. Beating the **** out of Nazis (and the japanese empire) is probably America's greatest founding myth. Greater even, in my opinion than the Founding Fathers era mythology or even the Civil War/union lincoln era - for a few reasons 1) the legacy of beating the BAD GUYS (this includes Hitler and the Nazis, FYI) has been within living memory of people for most of my life - our popular culture & American postwar identity was more or less forged by it. Only now as the WW2 generation finally dies out are there going to be generations for whom thta's not true, but for most US Adults - it's true 2) Hitler and the Nazis were so unambigously evil that it is very easy to swallow the US flaws at the time. Primarily being a Jim Crow/apartheid state - (aside - hey guess who grew up in an apartheid state btw )- is abhorrent, but not as bad as Hitler and the Nazis! It just isn't. And also, the US began to dismantle that state as a result in no small part because of WW2 The founding fathers era was too long ago IMO - likewise the moral contrast was not nearly as stark between the opposing sides in those conflicts. Anyway, I am heartened that most peope here agree - that there is no "One good thing about the Nazis" or "in fairness to Hitler" that ever needs to be appeneded to anything. Hitler = Bad Nazis = Bad US = Good
I didn't in any way think this thread was a joke. I may have replied in a humorous way but the fact is I agree with you. Which I stated. With that being said. Please do not highlight and group me with others you have a beef with. Humor is a lost art on this forum. I know many on this board are a bit more invested on their positions and being correct than I. This is a board of cliques if you choose to buddy up with Chowder it's all good. Do you think the leadership of the MAGA .movement from Trump down is fascist? If you do I really wonder what issue you have with posters calling that out? You don't think having a fascist candidate be a coin toss away from the presidency isn't going to concern people?
People supporting Trump because you feel he aligns with your values and political orbit - don't think that his way of operating - creating an olgigarchy will benefit you. Maybe if you are retired. But people like Trump with that much power typical do what's in their interest and enriches them - not you. He doesn't care about inflation once he has power and command of the military. He doesn't care about destroying the economy so long as it's profitable for him and his family. We will sell all of you out to get a richer lifestyle from foreign leaders. A lot of you believe he is something he is not. That's why Republicans who do see are working so hard against him. This is a pivotal moment in American history that with a Trump victory will have repercussions that will mostly negative for the vast majority of Americans.

Important fact - Hitler IS BAD People who admire or wish they could be like Hitler ARE BAD Full stop - no qualifiers/what ifs/buts/families etc. That's a baseline American belief.
Most Americans actually don't even know who Hamas and Hezbollah are, but to the extent they do, they would probably agree that they are pretty bad.
