Supposedly Ime had the guys watch lot of the HOU-CHA film. (like what Vecenie is doing there) Let's see if it translate tonight with Grizzlies.


Unrelated: now that Kelly Iko is covering Memphis now, it's a two-for-one for him: HOU and MEM.

Memphis beat writer Mullinax is also coming to HOU tonight for the game. Maybe he'll dab up Gatlin if they see each other.

 

Yeah - love this type of analysis mostly to confirm if I'm off base with my own analysis. I think in this case I had a similar take in another thread that we missed a lot of relatively open shots(right shot, wrong results) particularly with Jalen and Fred and if we just hit a couple of them, this is a different ball game and that those shots are open because teams are actively encouraging us to beat them from the 3pt line(OKC played us that way in preseason too). I thought Sengun needed to pass more because there were times when he was trying to crash to the hoop with 3 guys surrounding him and Vecenie's film showed a few places where he missed the shots Sam thought he should make but I also thought guys like Bari and Amen would have been viable places for Sengun to dump off to but it's tough because when Sengun bullrushes his way to the hoop with 3 guys around him, you have eliminated the easy bucket opportunity and we now have to hope the guy in the dunkers spot hits the middy or one of our guards hits the 3 and we typically don't shoot well in either scenario.

 

Had Jalen cost a game with a unprovoked turnover the trade Jalen brigade would be going crazy

 

He should start asap if he is not doing it yet.
