He has all day in the pocket... IIRC CJ never got that kind of time against them... We have the talent, just needs to be correctly utilized.
and in all fairness, Stafford has seen a few defenses or two lol 10 plus years in the league. On top of a decent o line.
He also has a genius coach Sean McVay, we have a discount dollar store version in Slowik, who can't even hold McVay's jockstrap
McVay showed everyone how to bust that overload defense vs the Shanny WCO last night. Creative screen passing, RB involved in the intermediate pass game, motion man out of the bunch formation and more importantly using pre snap motion to help the QB diagnose the disguised alignments better. Obviously that all starts with good blocking, but I want to see how much of this Slowik incorporates on Sunday or if he's still going to be stubborn.
Some of the plays McVay was running were so sweet. I always see offenses like that and the Dolphins and think, why don't we have that spacing?
No doubt. Its a gritty squad. They played you guys pretty tough too a few weeks back while being depleted. Well coached team.
Yeah, I suppose it's easy to forget this is only CJ's second season in the NFL because he plays like a vet so much of the time.
Im not a fan of the quality of our screens when compared to the other Shanny systems out there. We might use the least pre snap motion among those teams so we'll find out pretty quick how highly Slowik thinks of himself.
I don't think we're that discipline to run motion every play. We've seen two guys go in motion at once because they don't know which guy is suppose to go.
Im just hacking on ya a little bit about catching teams at the right time. Buck is a live wire who knows where his mind wandered off to!
When I see the top 4 teams last year who used motion were all Shanahan disciples and then I see that Houston was 17th its a pretty stark realization what the issues could be. I havent found the numbers yet for this year, but I'd bet its the same. Motion is a must in the Shanny offense. Pre snap motion right into underneath 'rush' routes should be our bread and butter while Nico is out. I just dont get it. What exactly makes the Slowik offense tick or be considered as good as the other advents of the Shanahan tree? These guys are professionals who are making year 1 mistakes. If this game is more of the same DeMeco needs to intervene. WRs know they cant have multiple guys moving without resetting so its not all scheme related. We just have lazy players making lazy mistakes and heads are not rolling for it.
This will be a close game. A loss here would be a big blow to our post-season chances with the insanely difficult schedule coming up.
