Reed Sheppard is the Rockets’ Franchise Player™

I remember before the draft and I was telling people to remember it was a weak draft and no top pick is likely to be a typical pick at their position. I remember telling people to stop acting like Reed was CP3 with a more lethal shot or Steve Nash. I remember being told that it was ME who was the crazy one and that y'all weren't nuts for having ridiculous insane expectations about somebody who wouldn't go top 10 in a typical draft. Hilarious.

 

Risacher and Sarr haven't exactly light the world on fire. Edey fouled out last game.

This is one of those we have to wait for things to unfold.

 

I'm confident Reed will be an All-Star. He is the NBA's version of Patrick Mahomes...according to Atlanta....

 

Jesus Christ. It was one game in his rookie season. If he averages 30% from 3 this year it would right in line with expectations from a rookie.

Reed will be fine. Fully confident in the Mark Price comp.

Mark Price? Maybe. Probably not CP3 with a more lethal shot, Steve Nash or "better than Jalen day 1" though it seems...

 

He won’t be as good as cp3, that’s ludicrous. Paul is a top 20 all time type player. Reed’s hands on defense are incredible, and no worries at all about the shot. He looks awesome so far.

 

Welp, he played mediocre in one game. I guess you were right.

 

He’s thinking too much and hesitating on good looks. Just let it fly.

Hopefully watching Brooks brick without a care in the world will do good for him.

 

More games and more run will make him more comfortable. He didn't just lose the ability to shoot.

 

He'll be just fine. Dude fits in great with Amen and Tari

 

Credited with one steal but I counted 4 more defensive possessions he swiped at the ball, throwing off the ball handler leading to a steal or a hurried shot.

 

He's 100%in a feeling out time about what he can and cannot get away with against NBA defenders.

Everybody fully expected that to be the case most of his rookie season. The fact that defensive minded Udoka is already trusting him with rotation minutes despite that is a great sign.

 

He needs more mins. He performed admirably when FVV was in foul trouble.

 

I definitely see something there with his fluidity with the handle and jump shot. He air balled one middie but how he went to that shot with that dribble splitting the defense looked like a very skilled NBA guard. He just is going to need time in such a deep roster that is trying to actually win games now rather than tank.

 

The Rockets have played two ****ing games… and Reed is coming off the bench…. Literally less than a week into the season..

 

Ok so 2 of the two games we played he was underwhelming. Even tonight he was only 6/0/2. Not bad but not amazing either. Lets see tom. Next time you are gonna say its only 3 games played lol

 

I don’t think he was underwhelming tonight at all. He is coming off the bench- he played 13 total minutes and in that time played well. His defense was especially good.

He isn’t going to start over FVV or Green - he’ll he didn’t even start in his single season in college - he has played two games and will have to earn minutes with Udoka.

All of this is really premature

 

I was told bt a few people here there was "no way" he'd cut into Aaron Holiday's playing time during his rookie year after me saying hed do so by the new year. I need to find those posts sometime.

 

I feel like Reed has played very well the first two games.
