Ultimately the biggest criticism of Bush about his Katrina response was his lack of unqualified people in positions of leadership. Bush was a deal maker/ hand greaser
Lack of qualified people mainly Michael Brown Edit: compare his experience to current fema chief Deanne criswell

She does have conviction. But she needs to turn the profanity meter down to 8 instead of 12. I always take people more seriously if they are not cussing like a drunken sailor on leave.
In the next 24 hours there isn't much that can be done except for thoughts and prayers as it's no longer safe to evacuate. First responders are in position and state and federal resources are positioned but during the height of the storm there is probably little that can be done.
Does Marjorie Taylor Greene really believe the federal government (which she is a member of) can control the weather?
But you know that’s not going to happen. The facts and reality do not matter as long as they have a talking point as a way to blame democrats. We will wake up today to devastation and mark my words in minutes the internet will be fueled by the MAGA propaganda machine blaming Kamala and probably some antisemitic conspiracy. The one I’m seeing already this AM on Facebook is whining about foreign aid. Obviously foreign aid is a slippery slope for them to go down because we all know they support the 18 billion a year going to Israel (which we know isn’t about supporting Jews but protecting Biblical historical sites they view as theirs) but will whine about the 100 million that goes to brown people elsewhere. Either way though it’ll be Kamala’s fault. I would be proactive if I was the Biden admin and be ready today to deploy military even if you had to and make sure there is ample evidence that you can use to combat misinformation. You gotta deal with it for at least 4 more weeks. If Trump loses then much of this disinformation machine will stop being so heavily funded especially by foreign adversaries and billionaires here that will now want to curry favor with a Harris admin.
I’m sure there will be all sorts of blame and finger pointing. There will be tons of misinformation circulating on social media including here. As I’ve said before none of that is going to help the people that are going to be struggling for a long time after this. There are roles for all levels of government and also for private groups and individuals to help. This is a major disaster and recovery is going to be slow and difficult though. At this point from what I’ve been seeing the right things are being done.
In the last three days here in the state that has set records for the coldest temps in the lower 48 states we’ve had temps in the 80’s. And are likely to hit 80 again today. While this is unusual aberration warmer Falls has been very noticeable in recent years.
For those who still believe the government programming, "climate change" is a tool to increase tax revenue. Look at California's CARB program or Canada's carbon tax. Every business uses energy in some form or fashion. Paying a tax to the government for energy use is a way to create whatever tax the government would like on a business. Who sets the price? The government. It's like a property tax is to real estate... a climate tax is to business. This is all being done to increase the size of governments (largely the G7 countries) and further take power from the people. Man's influence on the climate is close to zero.
And if there wasn’t so much misinformation that led to threats against government officials rescue operations could’ve proceeded better and faster.
