This game green was taking too many 3s, but he also has the highest ts% for the game. Usually u want the guy who has the highest ts% to shoot more shots..... so what do folks want? Better shot selection cause? Folks wanting him to take less shots so the likes of Bari, brooks and fvv can shoot ain't it

Some of it’s over the top but the reason why the offense stunk is because of the garage play chucking in the 3rd quarter.

I blame Ime though more than Jalen. Call a timeout and make them run some plays to spread out the defense so they can’t clog up the paint and force bad 3’s. Do something. Jalen is not Steph, but the play calling tonight really assumed that he and FVV are that deadly that this is the way you counter a defensive plan that was working well to clog the paint.

The “others” tonight couldn’t get anything going because the ball was not moving and nobody could score in rhythm. To me this looked like a teams first preseason game not their first regular season game. Stone and Feritta should call Ime in and ask him why they looked so ill prepared tonight for the season and what his plan is to now expedite all the things he should have been doing in the preseason and training camp because what he did obviously was ineffective.

Jalen is who he is for better or worse at this point until he makes that leap at some point (hopefully). The guy needs to be coached. He’s not a superstar playmaker yet and he sure as hell isn’t a knock down shooter you can rely on solely to win games just by letting him shoot like crazy.

Coach the kid please, and draw up some damn plays.

This true shooting seems peachy but welcome to the modern NBA.

A star has to be able to be consistent and lead a team to victory...which Alperen also didn't do so he is under criticism as well.

Alpe fumbled away the ball. Green did make two clutch shots but he also didn't appear for several minutes before that.

La Melo, Tre Mann and Grant Williams ran away with the win and there should be no excuses that the Rockets choked that game away at home.

I mean it was cute when Green wasn't paid but now that he is, you guys are still playing apologists to his cause......

Jalen was fine. FVV was the one playing hero ball. They all started forcing instead of sharing the ball and moving without the ball like they did in the first half. Ime played Dillon and Sheppard too much this game. It’s time to get Amen in the starting line-up and your transition team more time together. Amen, Jalen, Tari, Bari, and Sengun. Brooks getting 31 minutes while Amen and Tari get a combined 35 mins is criminal. Especially since Amen could have shut down LaMelo if given the opportunity, but how can he with FVV and Sheppard on the court at the same time.

His true shooting comes from his 5 for 5 FT shooting lol hardly from 3 point range, I think have the courtesy to read his stats.

Freethrows you can practice, other than fans there is no opponent in front of him while shooting FTs. Uncontested.

    All this takes without nuance.

Like I said he took too many 3s but then again who would u rather be taking them shots if not green?
Man had the highest ts% this game, but yea take less shots so the likes of Brooks and smith who were nonexistent all game to make the shots.

It's a conundrum. Too many 3s are bad for green, but if he isn't doing it who should?

I never said anything about a bad game from Green, that is what you somehow came up with.

However I do not have a solution to the Green problem, he always had that mindset to jack up shots.....Silas gave him that, und Udoka never stopped him.

My opinion is that he can only find it out himself thru years of maturing.....that can take him until he is 29 or 30.

    • A better system has to be set up in place by Udoka to generate more cuts to the basket and to more corner 3s........more midrange.
    • Landale [whoever is hot] should have taken more shots, in this game he was on a good trajectory....whoever is hot that night.

Jabroni Smith Jr and Dillon the Crook (as in, stealing money straight from the team) don't show up to work. "We have a Jalen Green problem." Nah, we have an idiotic fan problem.

His scoring and efficiency was fine. Could be better but I'd take that efficiency over the year.

He didn't impact the game in other areas (facilitating, rebounding) last night like he started to do last year which was disappointing. Hope he doesn't regress there.

Our 42M dollar guy didnt have a signature game thats for sure.

Its going to be fun to watch the Jaters lose their minds over and over again this year.

It's cool, we'll just put Amen at the 1, 3 and 4, he's the supreme saviour of basketball don't you know.

Jalen had a Jalen-esque game last night. Inconsistent, shot us into the game then shot us out of the game then shot us back into the game and ultimately finished a -11 on below 40% from the field. The numbers don't really tell the whole story with him or Sengun though. Ultimately he had 28 points and Sengun had 25/18. Wasn't perfect from either of them but it was the dross from their teammates not named "Thompson" that did the team in.

Ime needs to put Jalen in a better position to succeed. He's the SG for the foreseeable future but I don't believe the team construct is super complementary to him and Sengun (i.e. ****ing start Amen Thompson over one of FVV/Jabari/Dillon). I'm really really low on FVV being Jalen's backcourt partner. They were getting absolutely abused on defense last night (and by they I mean Fred). Jalen had an amazing defensive possession in the 4th and played well overall in the final 6 minutes but it was too little too late.

Imagine how much better both Sengun and Jalen would look if the coach had a playbook. Even a basic playbook. Anything more than a badly run PnR that doesn't help anybody in the action, a DHO that doesn't help anybody in the action and a post-up that works because Sengun's great and nobody can defend the post in 2024. Imagine if people moved off the ball, or we ran a screen somewhere. Imagine if we could make a defensive player have to move out of position in more than 1 in every 30 times down the court? Incredible, we might even look like a basketball team in the NBA.
