I'm still flabbergasted that the Rockets rolled with a Smith - Thompson front line in the closing minutes tonight until they went behind -

    - like what did Ime see from Smith tonight to think - oh yeah that's our closing big man!

Lol. Come on I'm not SOF but it's crazy - you just handed the guy 150 million dollars

Jabroni Smith Jr is almost as good as Jabroni Smith Sr. The main difference is his dad played the right number of minutes for his talent level before he went off to Europe.

Dont give me 33 minutes and a statline of 8pts and 5rbds.

You arent pj tucker. You arent ron artest.

Amen in 21 minutes gave me 13 and 4.

Jabari can start, but he deserves sub 30 minutes. Amen deserves 25+

I'll never truly understand how Jabari was in the conversation for the #1 pick. I remember watching his college tape and not understand what people were talking about.

It's crazy now looking back, but Jabari was the consensus #1 prospect. Magic were the only ones to get it right.

I watch an absolute assload of college hoops and I didn’t get it either. Thought it was a ploy or something.

I root for him like crazy cause he seems like an easy guy to root for…but he’s not a #1 overall kinda player.

Yeah you only get to do those statlines if you're locking people down full on clamps or you're best friends with Beard and you're part of his contract negotiations or some ****. Jabroni's nowhere near good enough on D to justify that. Either play Amen as a starter or move Sengun to the 4 now he shoots better than Jabroni too and start Adams.

Not sure why some of yall keep believing in this thoroughly replaceable player.

They said he could lock down anyone from 2-5...I mean he is decent but not that much of a game changer.

On the other side he is the Curry of bigs......that is the joke.

CF is a kool aid city, it always was, so just do not take it to your heart. We just prop up our own players.

I'd be surprised if he could lock his door tbh, I doubt he'd manage to aim the key into the hole.

Among draft board guru dorks like KOC or Sam Vecenie he was ranked #1.

Orlando and OKC knew otherwise - the Rockets trusted the draft board dorks when they lost Banchero - bad move.

Sam Vacenie has some addiction to dudes without standout physical gifts but are perceived to be "high IQ" and "fundamental". He thought Jabari was that type of dude. He also believes Reed Sheppard has a higher ceiling than Green which is absurd.

Dude has a type he latches on to

Bet he's one of those "metrics" guys who lives and dies by made up estimates and benchmarks comparing against imaginary players.

The problem is he isn’t an Ariza type. Ariza, while an admittedly average shooter similar to Jabari, was a legitimately good perimeter defender that could stay in front of his man, navigate screens and play passing lanes.

Tari Eason is our Ariza. Jabari was supposed to be a sweet shooting third option with but he doesn’t seem to have any kind of nose for the ball on either side of the court.

Blaming Jabari when Ime has one of the worst offensive sets I have ever seen is funny, Jabari has strengths, Ime needs to get the team playing with more movement both ball and body, too much 1 v 5 crap.
