Defense was not the issue, these are professionals, they're going to score on you. Ra-ra hustle-hustle might work in Cleveland where the expectation is getting blown out in the first round every year, but I'd hope the team is aiming for more.

Didn't Charlotte have the worst defense in the NBA last year?

 

His defense alone warrants 30+ minutes a night.

It is absolutely criminal the majority of his minutes do not match up with Sengun's minutes.

Amen's off ball movement combined with Alpi's vision would open up an avenue on the offensive end the Rockets don't yet have.

It defies belief we've started this season and it appears that isn't even on the table.

 

So...

I'm still pissed.

 

We've got plenty of talent, they're managing to score in an offense predicated on 2 simple actions run over and over and over. That's miraculous in itself in a league where people are used to defending beautiful offensive basketball played by the greatest players in the world. Like seriously, it's impressive to be able to score over 20 as a player when you only do 2 identical things every time down the court.

 

It seems like this needs to be a development year. Need the front office to force more minutes for Amen, Reed, Cam and Tari by trading FVV, Brooks and Jabari.

 

one dumb loss for a team that’s trying to make playoffs is huge.

 

Its going to be a long season, and a great reality check for the front office groupies.

 

Amen needs more mins or b promoted to starter. If folks are worried that his offensive limitations will b an issue, brooks and smith did nothing on offensive and still played heavy mins

 

Yeah but he doesn't mention the offensive problems, which is entirely the point. Ime only cares about defense, hence running the bare bones basic ass offense with nothing that ever forces the opponent to have to work for it. We make it SUPER easy on opposing defenses. Does it not seem a little odd that defenses used to chase us more when our entire offense was one guy dribbling the ball to death and then making crazy passes last minute to open guys? Seriously compare the 2 tapes, nobody ever chases us down. We need somebody who can make the defense do what our defenses are always doing against everybody else, force the rotation, chase the open man. We haven't had that since Beard left.

 

fvv is a great leader. Not a good player for his money. Get a Mike conley that does the same work.


Brooks contract with Jabari is attractive to a lot winning teams

 

Brooks is just so awful, I hated the contract when it was given and after a hot streak at the start of last year it still looks awful.

 

I really like brooks last year for his toughness and physicality and he didn't force too many shots. Today he went back to old Dillon brooks and just jacked up ill advised shots. We need to trade him.

 

I hope Jabari proves me wrong since it’s just one game into season, but he really hasn’t shown any improvement from previous years.

 

longer contract but the money isn’t bad at all. 20 mill is chump change now.

Tough to loss but it's only one and the first game. Much worse last year and we got a lot better during the season.

Not going to overreact

 

Not about the money, just think his minutes should go to guys that have a future here,

 

Jabroni, Brooks & FVV + picks for Beard. If Ime's not got the chops on offense to make it work at least give us a player who can do it by himself. Harden would have this team absolutely killing on offense with the talent we have. Amen, Jalen and Cam would make CP3 and Griffin look like "Lob lite" in comparison. Sengun and Beard 2 man game? Un-****ing-guardable! ****, if we need to take another guy or 2 take KPJ back and waive him immediately just so he's no longer playing, that'd be worth it.

 

With this loss, 82-0 is now unachievable.
