Gas prices in Minnesota jumped about .15 in the last day. Wondering if this has to do with the hurricanes are happening in the Middle East or both.
It is the October Sharia Law Minnesota Gas Increase Law that was implanted by Imam Walz in 2023. The new legislation helps pay for illegal Somalis to be imported.
Gas prices are up in Minnesota because everyone is grabbing fuel for their augers to drill holes in the impending lake freeze over. Got to keep up that diet of lake fish to go with the extra layers. "Minnesota is generally not a Horney place"
Republicans appear desperate to convince Americans the economy is terrible. just the facts! inflation Inflation has come full circle for the Biden administration. Consumer price growth slowed to its lowest pace since February 2021 — the first full month President Joe Biden was in office, the Labor Department said Thursday in its final inflation report before Election Day. unemployment % continues at historical low level. in the low 4% range job creations avg > 100K jobs created every month since Trump was fired by American voters, for 44 consecutive month. job creation by Biden 2021: 7.2 million 2022: 4.5 million 2023: 3 million Nine months into 2024: 1.8 million job creation by Trump 2017: 2.1 million 2018: 2.3 million 2019: 1.98 million 2020: -9.3 million We’ve recently seen record highs on Wall Street; gas prices are low, retail sales are strong; interest rates are falling; and wages are up.

The IMF expects a brighter U.S. economy, a 2.8% GDP expansion in in 2024, an improvement on the 2.6% it had forecast for 2024 back in July. Growth in the United States has been led by near-record-low unemployment, strong consumer spending, fueled by healthy gains in inflation-adjusted wages.
Economy is in great shape under Biden - terrific - the country is way better off today than it was 4 years ago. DD
as for the candidates for the POTUS Kamala has dangled higher wages and tax credit to first-time home buyers. Trump has Donald touts tariffs,
I am surprised people think the economy sucks. Very low unemployment. Stock market is up a bunch, by what objective measure did trump do better than biden on the economy.
People wrongly believe the economy is inflation and only inflation. All they have are feelings Biden increased inflation, not looking at the actual causes. All they know is Biden was in office when it occurred.
Among other things. Quit trying to use logic to figure out these people. It is an excersise in futility.
Well it used to be that monopolies were illegal and broken up leading to competition to keep prices down, now, they have paid off Congress and 13 companies own most all others. So now instead of competition you have collusion - which leads to price gouging.....remove lobbyists - make them illegal and break up monopolies. DD
That wasn't it in the beginning. Most of inflation in the beginning was semi-legit. The COVID vaccine started being utilized in 12/2020 and the world opened up to broken supply chains as well.
So where I am right now a little south of Austin, the trend for all the gas stations is for the price to slowly decline over 2 weeks or so and then in a single day jump up by 40+ cents, like clockwork, all the gas stations synchronized within seemingly hours. It's bizarre and upsetting, and I've never seen anything like it, but it's been that way since I've been here for the last year and a half.
I think it disproves the thesis of this thread -- It's the economy stupid. Apparently, it is not the economy. Turns out people can rationalize economic excuses for voting the way they wanted to vote. So voting must be driven by something else. IDK, not my industry. But, working in a business exposed to commodity markets, I'd say the tendency is to react quickly when your underlying costs go up, and slowly when they go down.
