Ironically, The struggle and oppression of a ethnic group of people often leads to nationalistic urges..... Such as the Jews in Europe being oppressed and feeling the need to form a nation....

Bill Clinton has a very nuanced view on Israel and Palestine. He has supported the struggle of Palestine needing it's own state in the past - and if he lives long enough, likely will in the future. However - he also really soured on Palestinian leadership, because Clinton believed he had an agreement in place to have two completely separate states in place - and Palestinian leadership undermined it after pressure from extremists - Clinton has said that this was the best shot Palestine had of existing. His position after that has been very interesting and not very political.
