Fiddler on the Roof he’d also listen to the soundtrack on tape ,,, too much. So, as a prank, we’d fast forward it to start at the line “damn, damn, damn, damn”, and giggle
Not counting oldie Indian movies that he was especially fond of, he really liked Kill Bill and Kung Fu Hustle.
he prolly loves those random oldie movies with no real purpose, like feris bueler or breakfast club. i think he also liked those early adam sandler movies like happy gilmore.
The Jerry Lewis cult classic - The Day the Clown Cried. It is about a clown named Helmut Doork.... in a concentration camp that makes kids laugh before they are gassed.
Dad passed away a few years ago, but I might guess any Bogart movie. My dad and I were very different in many respects. I think the one thing we both loved are old movies. We would banter back and forth about movies that featured, for example, Ward Bond: "And he had a small part as the bus driver in 'It Happened one Night'. And he played a small town cop in 'Grapes of Wrath'." One time, he called me (he lived still in his native Iowa) to say, "Hey. Treasure of Sierra Madre is on tonight at 7." "Funny. I had already set it to record." (And I had.)
I love this. My dad is 87. He showed up this last weekend to watch my son coach in a tournament basketball league. Before it started he told me he picks up the paper to check the obituaries and laughs cause all of the dead people were born in the 40s and he was born in 37 lol “It’s like it passed me by!” I know it hasn’t and just so grateful he’s here still. He is and was an amazing dad. I save voicemails he leaves me. And grateful his songs/voice are gonna be up on Spotify or whatever the next music app is long after I’m gone.
I’m not really sure and my dad isn’t a big movie buff. He’s said before though that he loved the ending of the original Planet of the Apes and the scene where Charleston Heston realizes what planet he’s really on.
My Dad was a huge John Wayne and Clint Eastwood fan, True Grit and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly were his top 2..........He also loved Blazing Saddles
