lol you can’t be serious. At this point you are just arguing with me just to argue. Sengun, a 22 year old player looking for his first real nba contract did not just take a pay cut “because he wants to win”. I’m one of the biggest Sengun fans on this site and that’s even too delusional for me.

Just long-term security over anything. I'm sure the injury played a role. In any case. great for the Rockets. I'm a Rockets fan first and foremost, so I'm happy.

Lol as I said kid, there's no such thing.

I get that you are far too delusional to understand that, so let's just move on.

I don't care what's realistic, I care what these players think of themselves. Regardless of whether or not its true, both of these guys should think "I am a max player, I am going to play like a max player, and I deserve to be paid like a max player." It surprises me and also kinda bums me out that neither of them have this mentality. Especially when they can look at see what the other 4 guys from their own draft class got paid. It's just a mentality thing.

    Not really.

JG deal is 35M for 3 yrs guaranteed so thats 100M at least already and with a max salary of 300M over the next 7 yrs.

Sengun deal is 185M for 5 yrs.

JG deal is superior cuz if he sucks ass he gets 100M guaranteed and if he is amazing he gets 300M and 7 yrs of security.

Sengun just got 2 yrs of security and I dont think that matters as much when you already make 100M guaranteed. Even if you have an injury scare 100M is plenty thats why I dont buy this "Sengun got desperate" BS.

    He is our Jalen Brunson.

Yeah maybe. But as a Rockets fan, I am happy he is locked up long term.

At those contract values, I don't think any of us ever needs to feel sorry for any of these guys for missing out on some millions lol.

Great deal for Sengun — smart and conservative you know what you’re going to get for the next 5 years on both sides of the contract. Getting the bag seemed to be really important to him so hopefully he’s at peace now and can focus purely on basketball. Good value for us and tip of the hat to Alpie for leaving 40Ms on the table.

Imo injury from last year made Sengun to want stability. There is always the risk of a major injury happening and the promised deal going down the drain if he accepts waiting until the next off-season.

This should be the main reason. I don't think Sengun is the type to undervalue himself.
