Stone hit two home runs in one inning.

    Let's get the season started!

I'm surprised he took this much of a discount, i would do this deal 100 times outa 100. I just didn't think he would and if it was max or nothing, waiting was 100% the correct decision to make. Great deal for the Rockets and 185 mil is enough that he'll be able to afford his meals for 10000 years.

It's not weird in Jalen's case. Nobody was going to offer him the max.

I think Alpi basically showed his commitment to the Rockets, and he chose stability and security over trying to maximize now (I think his narrowly avoided much more severe injury at the end of last season might have played into his thought process here). Long-term, hopefully the right decision.

He should have negotiated a no-trade clause in return for giving this massive discount. Curious to see if we will hear more details.

I agree. Sengun out his money where his mouth is. Did a Jalen Brunson. I hope this is what enables Rox to beat OKC and every other team in the near future.

Not surprised the Rockets extended both. It's rare when a prospect that's extended this early ever is non tradeable in this rookie extension. You extend them to the best deal you can get, and hope they exceed expectations. No extension drama... just go play.

Wow, another very team-friendly deal by Stone. Starting to look like his only real weakness as a GM so far is making trades. Surprised Sengun didn't get the full max tbh but can't argue with having more financial flexibility for when we have to pay Amen down the line.

All that talk about cap space next summer and it was all BS, anyone who has checked the FA list and half paying attention can see that there’s no one worth a damn on the market next year besides our own FVV whom we can extend. It was a perfect storm with Sengun finding religion after that injury scare last year, making him desperate to lock up guarantee money.

Stone bluffed, and he won. And as a Rockets fan I couldn’t be happier about it.

There might be a trade kicker since JG got one.

For discounts like these a trade kicker is more than worth IMO.

    Bruh.

Sengun isnt desperate to lock in money he just wants to win. You know a player called Jalen Brunson? Why you always need to twist something nice to something horrible?

It's kind of like last season where they did a really bad deal for Brooks then did a really good deal for FVV right afterwards.

This is how they keep the core 7 together. Slightly less than max for all 7. Pay the tax bill. Keep the guys together. LOVE IT!

Relative to the respective player's performance, yes. But with that horrible injury scare last season, my guess is Alpi wanted to have longer-term security.
