    Wow. Well done Stone

If I were Sengun, I would have taken Green’s contract instead

"We’re finally committed to letting a core grow together. It’s been a while." I think this is the story here!

I am glad we got all the contract stuff out of the way for this season.

Now we can focus on winning.

I also want us to re-sign FVV and Steven Adams. Clearly, we are no longer looking to "maximize cap space" for a crappy FA market.

@astrosrule told us many times this wasn't going to happen.

Alpi left a lot of money on the table - he is a far better player than some of the guys who got max deals.

I hope the Rockets repay his commitment later down the road, with loyalty.

player option sucks so it's a 4 year deal instead of 5 but substantial discount so you gotta do it

Weren't you the person who told us he should get paid less than Payton Pritchard? And that the Rockets were DEFINITELY not going to sign him before next summer? I think you told us like 100 times.

I said a max wouldn't happen, if he took a discount then it was different. I assumed he was a max or nothing and my point was that giving him a max now was a bad idea.

While Alpi left money on the table, he is still super young. He will already never have to worry about money again. He will only be 25 when he can opt out and get a bigger deal. Enough time to secure two more super max deals at the time.

LOL what? that was just a joke about preseason stats and how Pritchard ranked 1st on that global player thing. If you didn't think the joke landed that's ok, but it was clearly a joke....

Sengun is our franchise player. Takes the literal discount for the team.

Surprised that both guys signed these contracts. Neither player thought they were a max player? They were both okay with making less than Franz, Mobley, Cade, and Barnes? Obviously good for the rockets but kind of weird that neither of these guys thought they were worth a max, and were willing to accept these deals.
