How do you know Rox never offered that and JG just didnt accept?

This offer couldve been a middle ground between what the Rox wanted and what JG wanted.

Those players have all been consistently much better, Jalen getting less than them does not make it a steal.

This is at best a gamble, one with low upside having only 2 years of team control.

Im not a fan of these pre FA rookie extensions unless A. The player is proven nba caliber or B it’s a team friendly deal. This situation is neither.

I keep having to tell you that I'm a Rockets fan, not a player first/player only fan like yourself. Try to view things as if you were a Rockets fan.

My ONLY issue with Jalen is that he's been a terrible player for the past 3 years.... if he stops being awful I'll be happy.

Since the team is stuck with him, like they are stuck with Dillon Brooks, I'll hope they play well while suffering through their typical performances.

I did not say the contract was an overpay, in fact I said I was comfortable with it. I said the salary per year was, but the contract itself is fair because it was derisked by the shortened length.

You don’t get to act like you have towards him, then be like “just kidding!” if he works out. You will be trolled for evermore, and you’ll have earned it.

If something like that could've been happen, it would be a fitting tribute to Stone. There's nothing commendable about paying Green 35 million per year. Even if he's an RFA next year, he wouldn't get more than 20 million per year.

You think it was Jalen who pushed for shorter years? Stop.

35 per year is not an overpay. That a ridiculous assertion in a world where Suggs is making 30 mil a year.

How was the salary per year an overpay when its literally 5M more expensive than Suggs who everyone agrees is a massive steal?

You'd think the gap between massive steal and overpay is more than 5M.

I think he absolutely pushed for this contract. It sets him up to make an absurd about of money. Third contract at 24, fourth at 28.

His shorter years allow him to make 225/4. You think Jalen will never bet on himself after he became the first high lotto guy to go to GLeague?

JG has the player option in this deal. If he sucks for the next 3 years, he takes that 35M and gets 100M guaranteed. If he pops off he can make the max which is more than 5OM a year.

Not sure why you think 70M is worth losing out on 200M.

Suggs is a better player than Jalen, anyone remotely following the NBA would know that, he’s one of the best defenders in the NBA. Speaking of ridiculous, please go back to telling us how Jabari has super star potential.

or none of us knows what happened. We just know what’s reported. Rejoice that he’s still here and let’s see where this team goes. Or again you take the skeptical and negative route. Go right ahead

Yeah, I'm with Sam on this one, pretty neutral. Could be a good deal if Jalen plays well, downside is limited with a shorter term. I'd rather it not be a PO in year 3, but can deal.

Not really, if he sucked this year we could have just released him and had a 0 cap hold or traded him. Now we are stuck with this Jalen Green experiment again, no way he's worth 30 million.

Hope I'm wrong but this is not the splash I was hoping to see before the season.

when is he eligible to be traded now?

I know you'll struggle, but try to think as if you were a Rockets fan.

There's no "just kidding", Jalen has been dogshit for 3 years no matter how he does in the future.

If he ever becomes a good player, I'll be happy because it'll be good for the Rockets. Now sure, the dumbest members here will troll.... but trolling is all they do anyway... so what's the difference?
