I like it… even though I was trending Green being the odd man out. Not without its risk, but I prefer less money with the player option. Gives us more time to evaluate an inconsistent, with high upside player without overly committing

I mean if he is good and outplays the contract how is that bad for us? Ultimately the team wants him to be worth whatever the full max is by the time he is a FA.
This actually opens up more cap space next off-season. I believe his cap hold as an RFA would have been something like $37 million, now he's locked in for $33 million
